Obviously the kid is committed to going, but I'm just saying...

Wouldnt it warm you up on the insides to find out that after vacationing of course, Bron would rather be locked up in a gym with a big man legend and someone with a deadly midrange... as opposed to braving earthquakes and doing the global icon thing with the traveling Monstars.

I know, Im a greedy Cleveland die-hard.

Sometimes I wish the kid had chosen Addidas instead of Nike, and this is one of those occasions.

I think LeBron has a big hunger for that gold metal, I don't see him straying away from that, even if it means improving his midrange game. Honestly, I think playing overseas will keep him sharp.

Maybe he can still work out his mid range game there while working out with the best players in the league.

Team USA.

He learned some defensive moves and has improved his defense big time while playing with Kobe Bryant. I'd rather James learn more from guys like Kobe Bryant then a coach. But that might be just me.

I don't think there is a better coach for developing the fundamentals of basketball out there who I would take over Coach K. Keep in mind, I say that after hating Duke basketball my entire life.

As long as he makes whoever his shooting coach his travel buddy again it will work out. His jumper was looking fantastic during the summer and most of the year till the injuries kicked in

Lets form a "Duke Haters Cavs Lovers" coalition Randolph

You dont even have to say that you like my Heels, just the fact that you hate Duke is cool with me:thumbup:

Coach K, is from the Bobby Knight school and they tend to turn out systematic fundamental role players. With that said, I would welcome some fine tuning to certain aspects of Brons game, but not too much from K

Having to begrudgingly compliment Coach K for anything tears at my very core. I mostly hated Duke for the tendency for every white player they had to have the same Christian Laettner haircut and same smug Christian Laettner facial expression. Even Cherokee Parks had that look from the neck up, and he was more tatted up than a coked out big rig driver.

Ummm... Grant Hill. I think Coach K recruits for coachability over pure athletic ability. When he does get a physical marvel who is receptive to his coaching, he creates a fairly well-rounded player.

But in workouts, he'll be guarding Kobe Bryant.

We do not have a Kobe Bryant in Cleveland.

Thats the exact problem...

Every summer that he goes and plays with talent, I know it gets harder for him to coem back to Lake Erie and play with the same joy.

Gut says to me that I would rather him work on his jumper and post game and solely focus on that. Brain says that he will still be able to do that while playing with top shelf talent and learning from guys that have good mid range and post games. Genitals say to me that I have been on this site too long and ignoring advances from my wife. Now all that we need to do is have Coach Brown come along so he can learn how to coach the offensive side of the ball. We can lure him in with the promise of his own solid gold spit cup, encrusted with diamonds.

IMPROVE YOUR FT SHOOTING. THE OTHER STUFF IS ALL COOL BUT HE WILL STILL SHOOT 50% , but IMPROVE FT SHOOTING TO 85!!

If your anything like me, you'll probably be logging off pretty soon for the night, and talking about Brons summer choices when you return from 'pleasure island'

whichever allows him to get the ball closer than 30 feet from the hoop and makes his teammates move without the ball.

Can lebron hire an offensive assistant for the cavs this offseason?

The only way I will support this USA stuff is if he can kidnap that Massina dude.

I want to see the USA kick the crap out of the rest of the world this summer, so yes I would like him with Team USA. I'm sick of hearing about the Worlds in '02 and '06 and the Olympics in '04. I get the idea that there isn't much respect for LeBron in Europe because of the last two tournaments so I hope he proves them wrong.

Besides, who is to say he can't work on his game while with team USA? At least we know he's on a basketball court. Judging by the way some of our guys show up to camp, they spend the summer at the buffet table.

He could get the best of both worlds, if he works on his game with Team USA and their coaches during the summer and then continue that work through the season (specifically posting up). One can dream :king:

No matter how mediocre a shooter he is he will still shoot 48% which is better than any perimeter player in the league. If he can raise his FT % 15 that is an average of 1.5 more makes out of 10 and if he shoots 800 fts thats 100+ points added to his average..

Team USA is going to be a eye-opener for Lebron, he's going to see how easier it is on him to play with good/great players, then come back to the low-ended role playin Cavs bunch. Yeah he did play his Freshman/Sophomore year in 04, but he was to young in the league to care, I believe now if Ferry doesn't make a/some big moves pre-season, it won't be long before he starts searching himself

on topic- I don't think it matters whether he's in a gym or on a court playin. He's still going to be developing and on his toes off-season which is great, also with the USA coach's which are phenominal

An added bonus of team USA would be his ability to get more aquianted to michael redd, or try to tamper with melo. LEBRON FOR GM!

Lebrn has proven he gets alot of positive growth from his game within the structure of working in the environment of players and coaches of Team USA.

Last year Chris Jent travelled around with him and they worked on his shot and free throw shooting quite a bit. He truly did take the firt real positive strides since becoming a CAV in beginning the process of getting all the kinks out of his shooting stroke. The results don't come in the blink of an eye, it's a process ...but, the process has been started and I expect gradual posisive results to continue to appear on that front.

I can see no better format than to be working agaianst the best in practice when trying to develop an aspect of your game ...

Well, at least he does seem to hit all the clutch FTs, which is impressive.

and by the way, the heart of Europe is where I am!

This offense as it stands forces him to be an outside shooter and to settle which obviously drives down his percentages. If we could change philosophy this offseason and utilize him off the ball a little more effectively, I am sure his numbers would bump to the north based on that alone. I am sure he will come back next season with a vast improvement of some aspect of his game but the coaching plays a role in this as well. Let's hope the Cavs get an offensive guru in there to make everyones life a little easier.

Kobe is the one who taught lebron def. so mybe He can learn a jump shot from some of the guys. also, not many better teachers then the guys for team USA.

also keeps his mind off the cavs for awhile.

Practicing with and talking to team USA players along with coach K and staff will help his game alot. Larry Hughs did the practice with a shooting coach thing last summer and it just made him a better shooter in practice only.

One of these days one of the star guys the US sends over there is gonna pick up a serious injury...especially with the hard fouls some of the Euro teams lay out there.

I could see a team frustrated with a blowout just undercut Lebron and end our season before it even started...:thumbdown

I'm all for Olympic pride but once LBJ gets the gold, I personally hope he is done with the whole US Select Team. Lots of other young guys to carry the torch...Lebron has put in his time already..

just think about if you're in Lebrons shoes.....

- playing with shooting coach to tweek your technique on the off-season.. okay

- playing, practicing and learning with the best players and coach's in the world for 3 months. Just imagine him at practice, playing against Kobe, Melo, etc etc everyday. Such a great way to build your game, by developing with the most talented hard working players.

Im just really looking forward to being able to watch LeBron and the other NBA guys this summer, and not feeling dirty while rooting for Kobe.

I know that ideally LeBron wouldnt be putting himself in a position to pick up an injury, but a guy can only take so much midseason MLB without other sports to get him through.

"LeBron does not know how to use a screen."

That quote was from Rick Barry during the 07 Finals. I usually ignore anything from anyone surnamed Barry. But I remembered it while watching the current Western Conference Finals.

And since the pick and roll is what we'll continue to see the Cavs doing a lot of, using a screen better is a technique Bron could learn from Kobe. (No I am not comparing them, just pointing out one particular technique.) When the Lakers set a pick for Bryant, he is able to use it to quickly separate himself, moving toward the basket, so that he faces the big on a one-on-one and at his mercy.

In contrast, LeBron all too often comes off the pick by moving laterally and trying to take a wide berth. This makes him easier for the defense to track, frequently resulting in a double team.

Oh and I'm starting to put the piece together. He was driving a rolls royce phantom and The Wynn (a nice hotel/casino) rents those out to high rollers that stay in their top end suites.
