Is anyone listening to KNR this morning (it's 11:42am), he has a former Clevelend radio guy who is now in Missouri (with many South Florida contacts)about word that Parcells has supposedly told Lerner to 'wait'.

Wait until the Dolphins fate is determined. If the Dolphins season ends, Parcells is looking to get out of Miami and may want in at Cleveland.

And Parcells is close with Mangini, too.

Can possibly be the reason there is 'apparently nothing happening'.

Parcells' ego would love to have this potential turnaround to his credit.

PFT reports Peterson (former Chiefs GM) is heading to Miami. http://www.profootballtalk.com...ory/rumor-mill/

Suggests Cleveland Fans will have to swallow hard and root for the Rats today (against the Fins)

People seem to be of the belief that Parcells feels Cleveland job may be better fit for himself, and potentially suggested to Pioli to talk to KC - as KC may be a better fit for him (Pioli).

Real interesting...

Not going to happen. There's no sense to him making a move like that.

Sure there is. He has a one time opt out clause. He could walk and collect the balance of his 12M contract with no strings attached....then get hired by us and make millions more and look like a hero.

This story has legs...

doubt it, why would he leave a team that made the playoffs to go to a team that went 4-12?

well i can see it happening, parcells seems to love his new role of gm, makeing draft and free agent choices. I think the combo of mangini and parcells would be perfect.

To be fair, he did leave a playoff team in Dallas to go to a 1-15 team.

I get tired of being a gm for one team too long in video games :dunno:

The same reason he went to a 1-15 team...

Re-read Max's post. Since Wayne Huizenga is selling the team, Parcell's has an out in his contract...he can walk and collect his full salary of $12million....Max is saying it makes little sense for ANYONE not to walk, collect the cash, and take another job......thus doubling your guaranteed money.

I would be extremely stoked if this happened. Not exactly a long term answer, but the guy builds winners....just his presence should end all the BS we deal with right now.....

Great....

Owner Wayne Huizenga announced following Sunday's playoff loss to the Ravens that VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells will stay with the Dolphins in 2009.
This takes Parcells out of the running for GM-type jobs elsewhere, despite early-offseason rumors he might opt out of his contract. There was even a report that Parcells still had the "itch" to coach. Along with GM Jeff Ireland and coach Tony Sparano, Parcells turned Miami into an 11-6 playoff team in 2008 after Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller's club went 1-15 the season prior.
