I posted this in another thread, but it probably deserves to go in here:

God, this game revealed so much about this team:

1. We are coasting. Tonight we just turned it on defensively for 48 minutes and dominated the champs.

2. Shaq is saving his energy. He is going to be a beast in the playoffs.

3. LeBron James has a MOTHA FUCKING POST GAME. He was dominating Ron Artest of all people in the post.

I can't say I have ever been this excited about our team heading towards April. I now know what we are capable of, just wait until we reveal it all in the ECF and on...

Thunder
12-25-2009, 08:30 PM
Well atleast we know we have a switch that won't be turned on unless we're facing elite teams or until the playoffs start. I'm good with that.

I will not be angry if we start losing close ones to the likes of the Bulls, Nets, Wolves, etc. 'Cause our switch will be OFF for those games.

If he dominates Ron Artest, how does Catfish, and Pietrius have any chance??

Mo came up big, not worrying about the dirty defense being played by Fisher, and going out and completely dominating.

Fuck the Lakers, and Fuck Kobe, Fuck everyone but the Cavs.

Simply an enjoyable game to watch. To watch the Cavs play so well. To watch the Lakers implode. To watch their coach make excuses on national tv. They did not represent the defending champs tiltle with dignity. Size matters. What a christmas gift.

Thats exactly how i see it...Right now i care more about winning against the Elites b/c we're going to be facing them in the playoffs

But i had good things to say about everyone:

Mo-excellent game...very very impressive
parker-great D against kobe and knocking down shots
moon-nice dunk on that break and raining some 3s in the 4th
shaq-good presence and making it hard for bynum AND gasol...You proved your still the man:chuckles:
west-nice scoring off the bench
lebron-i was impressed with the good defense and post moves...
Z-good game big fella
av-thanks for being pesty:chuckles:

Fisher-fuck you...1st the charge on lebron and push on mo for no reason...fuck you
kobe-fuck you 2...got yo ass blocked a million and one times
odom-fuck you 3(no homo)...its annoying every time i click on an LA game and your getting a tech
Artest-you dont understand how to flop...need some lessons from av?

Anyone know what the heck phil jackson was trying to say in the 4th quarter interview...? It seem like he wasnt happy with playing on christmas...He just mad his team was getting a woop ass:rolleyes:

I might not be what you call a Laker fan but man I gotta ton of respect for Kobe. I hope LeBron learned the lesson that was given out because school was in session. The Laker's are getting blown out at home with all hope at winning the game gone and Kobe was guarding him like it was life or death. Basically teaching LeBron that you have to be a play-by-play player and never stop competing no matter what the deficit is. That's why when the Kobe vs. LeBron debates heat up around here the number still favors Kobe because for one he earns every inch of the floor night in and night out, two, at this point in his career he's still searching on ways to become better (the guys shooting the lights out with only four fingers btw), and three, the thought of him passing the torch to anyone is not even a thought worth entertaining. Atleast not right now..

Please.

Where was that suffocating defense when the game mattered and was still in doubt? That was obviously Kobe trying to save face by trying to beat Lebron in the 1 v. 1 game. The only thing Lebron should take away from that is he should have that type of defensive intensity that Kobe showed when the game still matters and not in garbage time.

Okay; so that post isn't by "you", but by someone in another forums you contribute in? I hope so, because if you are posting that BS, you were not watching the same game I was watching.

Kobe was schooled in the ways of what an all around BB player looks like. Slashing/cutting/passing/driving/shooting/post upping/... LeBron did it all tonight. In fact; some are saying he didn't play all that great, but I disagree; I believe this was one of his best games of the year. He made each and every other player on the team MUCH better tonight. That's when LBJ is at his best. That's also when the Cavs are at their best.

I sure do hope a player can score 30 plus if they are throwing up 30 plus shots. I wouldn't be calling a 30% shooting night a good night for Mr. Bryant.

This game is perfect example of why I'm not too worried about the Cavaliers..

You can tell that they are sort of saving themselves for these bigger games during the regular season and for the playoffs compared to last year where every game was a 100% effort game..

When it matters (i.e. Orlando & LA games) you can tell the Cavs are focused and ready to go...

Lebron totally had a less is more attitude for the game, and he just got good looks for everyone. He had 9 assists, and would have had more if AP hit his shots. That is just great. I wonder if he has learned that LeISO should be more of a last resort type of thing, or if he was just practicing it against lesser teams, because he has been passing it when it has mattered.

from my local forum.

Atleast not right now..

the gap is so large right now that Kobe going all out still isn't as good as LeBron coasting.

You're right. How can we live with ourselves? We'll never, ever beat a good team after losing to the lowly Wizards!

And then we beat the Lakers. The end.

i loved how businesslike the team was, no theatrics, no antics...

as in the proverbial acting like you've been in the endzone before.

Something else that I'm really excited about, is that all that stuff we heard about the Cavs slowly adding aspects to their game throughout the year ACTUALLY seems to be true. Windy seems to be documenting it well, pointing out all the little nuances we keep revealing as the year goes on, like the new plays for Shaq that we had never busted out until the big Lakers game.

Also, we are progressively seeing Lebron more and more and more sneaking into the block, and I wonder if he really did work on it like he said, and is just not tipping his hand too early.

Time to bring back this thread :)

Cavs has this coming for them. They really haven't played a complete and focused game since the Lakers game honestly.

Lebron coasts, and the team follows. When Mo struggles shooting, his floor game and defense disappear together, he is no 2nd option sorry. Parker & Z's fts cost this game, but they are servicible for what they bring, so in the long run means very little. Hickson is just playing the minutes, the Cavs literally has no starting PF.

On top of all of that, this team rarely gets moltivated, they play down to the opponent, they play to the score, they play to C's and Laker's record., they almost never play to perfect what they want to do on the court. I must say, this Cavs team is driving me a little mad, as i think at this point, I am so amazed by what they can do and the versatility they show when they turn it on. And with the half the season gone by, I must say, i think i have only saw probably less than 4 -5 games that they gave all out effort for 48mins. I saw at LEAST 15 - 20 games where they gave close to ZERO effort, and the rest, they only play a hlaf or a qtr of good sound basketball.

Having said that, they are 30-11 and the way the Lakers and Celts schedule line up the rest of the way, the Cav is really in a surprisingly good position despite all the bad play. However, i am really facing the dilemna of rooting for a team that rarely plays hard, that's just not right for me. I want to see them start playing harder.

In anycase, i am very ok with this loss. There rarely are good loss in a season, but this is one of them. They had it coming, they have been just playing too casual, too lazy, too arrogant, too entitled. In anycase, the "focus" issue has been the main problem so far, and what really is worrisome is that 1) it is so obviously led by Lebron. and 2) it has not improved, not even a little bit.

Also, Mo Williams is not the guy you want to take up the load when lebron is having bad day.

Too lazy, too arrogant and the LeIsos and DeIsos have been getting worse as of late. I'm guess I'm ok with Lebron going Iso but when I see West give up on passing the ball and start dribbling around for 15 seconds, the blood rages up in my face.

It's the half way point and we are coasting towards a 60-win season and home court through the ECF. This SUCKS! :coffee:
