NFL Network's Adam Schefter: Now that Willie McGinest signed with the Browns, don't be shocked if the team goes after linebacker LaVar Arrington. The Browns have not shied away from spending money, could opt to spend more on Arrington.

I wonder what Larry Dolan thinks of this ?

03-15-2006, 10:25 PM
Yeah really, maybe it's..it's ok to try to win in the offseason!

Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal reports that the NFLPA Committee on Agent Regulation and Discipline has voted to suspend agent Carl Poston for two years.

The suspension arises from Poston's negotiation of LaVar Arrington's December 2003 contract extension with the Redskins. After the deal was done, Poston claimed that the Redskins had failed to include in the final version of the contract a $6.5 million roster bonus payable in 2006, which would have resulted in two 2006 $6.5 million roster bonuses in the contract. In support of the allegation that the 'Skins had hoodwinked Arrington and his agent, Poston admitted that the didn't read the contract before it was signed. The grievance filed on Arrington's behalf later was resolved in a manner that resulted in no payment or promise of payment to Arrington.

Haha maybe this plays into our hand and we can get Lavar now? I'd really like to add him..

Lavar Andra Willie Chaun...wow

Although I don't think it will happen... This move would really drastically change the Browns draft plans more than likely.

03-15-2006, 11:01 PM
I would say that it sounds to go to be true but look at the other players that we already have landed. I dont think it will happen, he just wants to much money, and espically after we didnt get JP, why would we then get Lavar???

03-15-2006, 11:04 PM
idk I'm not the GM...but it opens offensive options in the draft if we get Lavar..

03-15-2006, 11:59 PM
There is still one more Potson, they are brothers...

But I would amped if we got Lavarr, you would have no idea...Id do a backflip down Euclid Ave in the projects of Cleveland butt ass naked.

03-16-2006, 12:10 AM
Yeah but you wouldnt dare do that here in the ghettos of sac town. :king:

03-16-2006, 12:48 AM
Yeah but you wouldnt dare do that here in the ghettos of sac town. :king:

For fear of a tour bus traveling from San Francisco passing by, they'd drop their rice-a-roni and try to do the stiff 1 eye with amac :chuckles:

Savage said McGinest's acquisition signals the end of the team's major spending in free agency this season.

"This pretty much puts the final piece in place," he said.

03-16-2006, 09:39 AM
Yea, Savage said this is our final major signing. Lets get it done in the Draft.

03-16-2006, 10:27 AM
I think theres some truth to what Savage said but I also think it could be a little ploy. I think he wants to wait it out with Lavar and Peterson so their asking prices come down he's not in a rush to spend that $

03-16-2006, 11:53 AM
I think he is trying to get them to lower their demands...

03-16-2006, 12:16 PM
LaVar would be a nice pick up, but I fully support what appears to be a negotiating stance by Savage. Arrington would be sick, but we've already upgraded our defense so substantially that he's not going to provide the additional benefit that he's surely demanding.

I'm pumped about our D as it is. Not getting one more all-world linebacker won't break us. The money for Arrington might be better spent elsewhere.

03-16-2006, 02:02 PM
Someone posted at Cleveland.com's message boards that Lavar landed at Burke Lakefront Airport at 11 am this morning...

Don't know if it's true but figured I'd pass it along.

03-16-2006, 03:14 PM
Was there a parade??? The red carpet??? Bone thugs n Harmony concert???

03-16-2006, 03:23 PM

03-16-2006, 04:58 PM
Bizzy Bone is just looking for a crate to live in under the brdige..

03-16-2006, 05:28 PM
Bizzy Bone is that broke, what the hell happened to him.

03-16-2006, 05:30 PM
Remember Cali, it's da first of da month....

Rent's a b!tch

03-16-2006, 07:00 PM
I doubt he is that broke...he has had like 6 CDs inthe last year. He is getting paid, he is just exaggerating his situation.

03-16-2006, 07:04 PM
Any news on Lavar? or what cuz I don't give a sh1t about that washed up rapper.

Browns | Might attempt to sign Arrington
Thu, 16 Mar 2006 18:42:12 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Cleveland Browns might go after free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins).

Schefter still claiming that we are trying to get him. I wouldn't mind at all, a week ago we weren't playoff contenders...now? You better beleive it, Lavar would solidify an already outstanding LB core. With Lavar and company you can basically assure us a top 10 defense :). We CAN afford Lavar, we have an estimated 10 million left. Give him 5 the first year a nice signing bonus maybe some incentives and backload it like the rest of the contracts.

03-16-2006, 10:33 PM
Ahhhh why not ? :king: Since they are throwing millions around like it's going out of style....

Sounds like Cali and myself :chuckles: (that just how we roll)

Getting Lavar would just be icing on a already delicious cake... I hope they get it done...I haven't heard anything else about him being in town, but I hope that's true... Nobody has left town yet after they have come to town and talked with the Browns... Reel him in guys...

Kalimba Edwards...Bart Scott...Trevor Pryce :/ all came and left. I'd love to get Arrington or Peterson :) it'd be shweeeet.

Can't confirm or refute the rumor saying Lavar landed at Burke at 11 today..

03-16-2006, 10:37 PM
Kalimba Edwards...Bart Scott...Trevor Pryce :/ all came and left. I'd love to get Arrington or Peterson :) it'd be shweeeet.Prove it.

I know Edwards was not here for sure...

03-16-2006, 10:39 PM
In an interview Trevor Pryce said me and Bart both went and checked out Cleveland, we saw the situation <laughs> and we decided to come here.

I know Kalimba was here, I don't have a link but he was in negotiations with Phil in Berea Rizzo reported on Fox 8 and then his gay dad stepped in.

03-16-2006, 10:39 PM
I went to Cleveland two days ago and Im back in Californ-I-A and I rejected their contract offer. So now what.

03-16-2006, 10:42 PM
I don't buy it....

If I didn't see it or hear it, it didn't happen.... That's how I look at life... :D
