When Streak Ends, What's Cavs' Course?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love Mark Cuban's take on our situation. It's the truth. After this season is over nobody will remember that we lost 25 in a row. When Washington got the 1st pick nobody remembered that they had a crappy season/a season to forget. All people were thinking about was the fact they had a great opportunity to draft John Wall and build a fun, exciting team for the future. Same will be for us.

I'm not going to sit here and sing Jamison's praises, but this is ludicrous. We lack talent so badly to the point that if it was anyone else chucking up those shots Jamison is, they would actually probably be doing worse. Jamison would not give us addition by subtraction at this juncture because of how poor this team is as a whole. Without Jamison, you would see Hickson immediately regress and our guards would get even less penetration than they are now,

Exactly.

Who do you guys want to give those shots to? Eyenga, who doesn't have a consistent jumper yet? Harris, who's been inconsistent? Parker? Moon? Graham? Sessions, who already shoots quite a bit for a PG? J.J, who has games of 18 FGA cause he can't make a tip-in?

As I said, he's certainly declined as he's aged & does need a lot of shots to score at times, but he's the closest thing we have to a legit scorer on this team.

If he were already gone, you can easily argue we wouldn't have had a close game in this 25 game losing streak..

Well, yes.

Not really. We weren't very close in many of those games. In the last four games, he's played terrible, and we've had a great shot at winning them.

Its not so much that I want someone else to take the shots. I don't have a problem with Jamison taking the most shots so long as he's taking the majority of those shots from spots on the floor where he actually has a good chance at succeeding. I pointed this out in another thread, but Jamison is taking 9.5 of his 15.3 shots from three areas on the floor (10-15, 16-23, 3-point) where he has had very little success (30%, 37%, and 34% respectively).

The issue is not Jamison chucking up shots, its where he's taking those shots. He doesn't have to be living in the paint, but there's no reason a 34% three point shooter should be taking nearly 5 threes a game. 1 or 2? Sure. But 4.6 is insane.
