"Winter is coming."

I guess we could have made this a while ago instead of hijacking the book thread. Anyways, here it is. For all five of us ( :chuckles: hopefully more come) who are big fans of the TV series and books, this is your place to discuss.

If you want to know what A Song of Ice and Fire is all about in a sentence, here it is: In a world where seasons can last a lifetime, the harsh winter is coming, and a dynastic struggle by numerous great Houses for control of the Iron Throne of Westeros is about to begin. Boy, is that ever simplified ridiculously, but if that sounds interesting, give it a Google search and STAY AWAY FROM SPOILERS!

There are currently five released books, with the series having begun in the 90s and the latest installment hitting shelves mid-2011.

The final two (tentatively....) novels that are yet to be released are:

The Winds of Winter
A Dream of Spring

By the Seven, may we see them in our lifetimes.

It's a great series, another hit by HBO. Can't wait for season 2 to start, going to have to re-up my HBO service.

Have not read any of the books but I am going to be doing a lot of traveling for work so may start picking them up.

I'm not a huge reader by any means, but if a book is right up my alley I will take note of it. These books drew me in and I literally did not want to put them down. Only way I coulda read 4000+ pages of literature in a couple months span. :chuckles: Would have been faster if ADWD didn't take until July to come out and if AFFC didn't slow down significantly.

Once RikSmits appears I got a question for him.

Just watched them all again with my girl over the past two weeks.

I know you love that little bitch king, but I fucking hate him. I'm half expecting his mom to fuck him next season.

I don't like Joffrey at all, I hate him, which is exactly what I'm supposed to do right? Jack Gleeson's portrayal of Joffrey is one of the best in the show, and he's a villain I love to hate. No idea where you got that I love him.

His dad is the best character in the series though. *troll*

That's cool and all, but if you've got HBO, you've got HBO Go which has all episodes of all HBO shows ever for free.
