So I, and probably many former LeBronites would like to know.

What is your exact position on Howards stance of being traded, how do you deal with it, and how is it different from LeBron giving CLE the leverage pre-decision compared to Howard letting it be known?

Do you think this is the right way of going about things or would you change it, is it worse or better? This is in no way meant as a flame as you are a respected "outsider" and we value your opinion.

Re: ButterMPancakes and the Orlando Howards

LeBron:

1. did not give a clue that he was leaving.
2. Did not give the organization, enough time to prepare for his departure.
3. LeBron left on the very last day - making it virtually impossible for the Cavs to do anything in the trade market.
4. LeBron colluded with Wade and Bosh to go to miami. This sort of move is not possible without collusion and such things are hard to prove.

Howard:
1. Gave his team enough time and warning that he wants to get out of there and he cant win with the likes of Hedo Turkoglu.
2. Gives Magic an option of knowing before hand the future and how it wants to proceed in the future.

Re: ButterMPancakes and the Orlando Howards

Dwight Howard was born and raised in Atlanta, which is nowhere near and has nothing to do with Orlando (I lived in Orlando for some years btw).

LeBron was a hometown hero, and the second-coming of Jim Brown. He played into this belief with his alias as the King, and that he would bring a championship to Cleveland. Howard is none of those things. Not even close.

There is no comparison.

LeBron threw it all away for nothing, because now no one respects him - and most fans (novice or not) will never respect someone who takes the easy way to a title. He broke under the pressure of the possibility of failure, and resigned himself to sacrificing his individual potential ability to be named the GOAT in exchange for the easy life in South Beach and the near certainty of a ring.

No American who appreciates hard work, sacrifice, and competitiveness would respect him.

Dwight Howard is being a big of a bitch as Melo was about it. I didn't like LeBron's method either, but this one isn't better. It allows teams to low ball the team trading the star. Of course I wish we had gotten a lowball offer from Miami ffs.

why? that offer would be beasley, who is a retard inefficient chucker, and.....who, exactly? it wouldn't have made the cavs any better long-term.

anyway, i hope the magic hold onto him only to lose him in the off-season to the nets for next to nothing. d-will, howard, lopez, brooks, and their 2012 1st would be a sweet team to watch. their recent struggles and dwight's whiny nonsense has made me second guess whether or not they'll hold onto him though.

Re: ButterMPancakes and the Orlando Howards

As I've said before, I have no problem with Dwight leaving if he feels he can't win with that team, because that team isn't good and isn't going to get better. If he does get traded, I'll be much more upset at management for not doing everything in their power to keep him, even if it means trying unorthodox methods. Otis has been way too stubborn and has tried way too hard to win with jump shooters. Trading him now is also a sign of giving up and just a loser attitude. I believe he won't be traded solely because Otis probably knows he goes when Dwight goes.

With that being said, Dwight has handled all of this like shit. He could've kept it quiet, but instead has made it all about him, AND tried to play a victim in the process, which is a joke. Throwing everyone under the bus every other night but then begging for pity.

The situation is also a lot different because they Cavs were having a great regular season and had just came off a deep playoff run. There's no way you trade LeBron when you're at the top of the standings and everyone in the city/state wanted that championship.

If you want to be traded, that's fine. But at least be a fucking man about it. Stop trying to blame everyone else, talk about how much you love the city and fans, but then say you want out ASAP. I would've been perfectly fine if he kept his mouth shut and played, then left in FA if the team got worse/didn't have any plans of getting better.

As far as "getting something in return", unless the Magic are getting GOOD young players and lottery picks, most other trades would actually be worse. Getting something in return isn't always a good thing. Last season alone showed that. On one hand, you have Denver, who are a solid group that's going to either break up in a year or two (while not getting deep in the playoffs) or will turn into the Atlanta Hawks of the West. On the other, you have the Cavs, who didn't get anything in return, except a huge dose of reality and two lottery picks.

You only trade Howard if it's to relieve cap space (meaning getting rid of Hedo as well), get lottery picks, and start rebuilding as soon as possible. The team couldn't get anywhere with a superstar and a bunch of role players, why would they decide then to trade their superstar for MORE role players?

In the end, this is mostly Otis' fault, and while Howard has acted like a bitch, this doesn't really change much for me. I'll cheer for him if he's with the Magic and if he's not, I'll be cheering for the Magic to beat whatever team he got traded/signed to. I'm not going to go out of my way to boo him just because he decided to leave a team that won't win, just like I wouldn't go out of my way to praise him for being NBA Jesus if he stayed (with how he has acted this year). I think I'll only really actually be upset if we end up losing Stan because of this.

Dwight is a bitch but at least that bitch is honest and don't give a shit who he throws under the bus.

I forgot where I heard this but I remember hearing someone saying that the Magic are trying to "call Howard's bluff" and that him and his agent won't be able to pass up on, potentially, an extra 30 million dollars the Magic can offer him that no one else can. I think this is an interesting way to look at it because so far all Howard has done has given a list of places he wouldn't mind playing, he hasn't literally come out and said, "I'm leaving 100%, trade me or you're going to lose me for nothing". It's a huge gamble for Orlando's F.O. to keep Howard past the deadline, and one I honestly think they can win, even though Otis Smith has been just awful for that franchise (the Courtney Lee for Vince Carter trade was the worst thing to happen to the Magic, even though it netted them Ryan Anderson).

There's also the fact that LeBron was playing on a team that had the best record in the league for two consecutive years while Dwight is playing on a team clearly in decline and strapped with terrible contracts.

Wanting to leave is a lot more understandable with Dwight. But they are both front running bitches.

Considering that if LeBron had let us know that he was leaving and we still waited until free agency we could have gotten the Toronto Raptors 5th overall pick from the Heat I would have liked the trade a lot better than some 28th picks in 3 years. People forget that the Heat traded the Raptors their pick back for Bosh, if we had arranged the deal with the Heat so we could have gotten that pick it would have been a lot better.

Oh yeah. Remind me to send an email to that hack columnist for the Sentinel who was talking about how the sun still shined after Shaq left but when Lebron left people would still have to wake up in Cleveland.

Just send it now. Howard will be gone within 5 months.
