Cavs’ Anthony Parker Mulling Retirement

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I always liked AP. He gets beat up around here but he's a class act and it's nice having someone like him working closely with Tristan and Kyrie on a day to day basis. It's a shame he wasn't around 8 years ago.

Eric Snow says AP would have made a big difference 8 years ago.

Euroleague GOD. Solid NBA role player. Im going to miss him. Maybe he can stay with us in the front-office? Coaching? Keep him around imo. The guy clearly wants to be apart of the franchise.

Ya i mean it's not AP's fault that Scott overplays him.

Parker will turn 37 in June, which is ancient by NBA standards for shooting guards, but he has consistently demonstrated this season that he still has some pop left to his game

Clearly the writer is confused. The only "pop" left in Parker's game is the sound his back and knees make.

I really would like to see him back with us.

Solid guy. I'm thinking the only reason he came back to us was because nobody else wanted him. He doesn't realise it, but he retired last year, he's just been keeping in shape by running the floor for the Cavs.

Love his character and how he is as a veteran for our young guys and I hope he gets some sort of role with the team if he wants it. Still don't understand why Snow is not a part of our staff somehow as he was smart, gritty, and from Canton.

Really liked Snow as well. Would love if he was in the organization.

My guess? Snow's an asshole.

Your body knows when you should stop....badly for him playing for Scott has probably sped up his timer a lot. He shouldn't have been seeing 30 a game last and part of this year and he should've been coming off the bench for a good team. Jamison on the other hand is a conditioning MONSTER. I wouldn't be surprised if he had 5 more years in him especially in a bench role

I agree. Jamison is looking to possibly have Ray Allen-like conditioning. Barring injuries, he could play for a while. However, if we still have an opportunity to trade him should he resign with us, we should do it. Let's say he signs with us for a low amount, his value could actually be very high for a contender team because they could basically give up scraps and a pick for him. His days as a big expiring contract are over, but it seems that he still could be used in a talent-based trade. I could see at least half of the NBA playoff teams valuing him enough to give up a late 1st, which I feel he is worth should he keep his play up next season. That's a lot of if's though. If he signs with us. If it's a reasonable contract. If he plays well. If he stays healthy. If we try to trade him. If he is building interest from other teams. However, most of those "ifs" are fairly likely to happen. Get it done, Grant!

Coming soon to a Quicken Loans Arena rafter near you...

Parker got one more year in the sun and the front office was all but assured that the team wouldn't make the playoffs by starting him. Win/Win

Yep at this point his just a punching bag out there.

But all that shows is our need for a two guard prospect.

If Jamison is cheap I have no problem bringing him back next year. Someone needs to score!!
