2012 NFL Draft Shocker

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would assume most anyone with money on the line that has heard Bernie talk, is concerned that he's a drunk and/or retarded. I think that's a valid concern. On the subject of football, I think he's a genius. He sounds completely sauced though. Kind of like Charles Barkley. I think they understand their sport on an entirely different level than most other people.

Pretty sure that Bernie is a drunk. At least that is what I've heard. His daughter is a porn-star, I'm not sure he can raise a franchise. I don't care who he played for and what city he loves.

Bernie might not be able to raise a franchise, but his daughter knows how to raise some wood.

Whats her name?

We take TJ Ward in the 2nd round. Or Chaun Thompson.

Browns actually trade up for once from 22 to secure either the OT position or the WR position. Would be a nice change from trading down all the time.

bundling picks to move up higher in the 1st or 2nd

ala 22 and 37 to BUFF and draft Floyd

or

37 and 67 to NE for a 3rd 1st Round pick

1-9. Alualu going 10
10. Ted Ginn going 9

Funny thing is Alualu is actually quite stout against the run & ended up being a decent pick, considering he would have been gone by the time the Jags picked again.

Let's be real...

Holmgren has put forth a half assed effort in his 3 years here. He's been terrible with the media, he's coasting on his 1 superbowl win as a HC in his entire career. He talks down to the fans like "how dare you question the almighty Holmgren, you've never won dick." with his "you're either with us or against us, don't come to me for playoff tickets."

With a 5 and a 4 win season, I don't think I'll be hitting you up for tickets Mike. I like Heckert as GM, bring Bernie in as the president, invite all the alumnus that have been blackballed back. Fire Shurmur and get a coach with a pulse.

I believe that's the media he said that to, not the fans.

The only thing I can think of is some unknown team surprisingly trades up and grabs Tannehill because they fell in love with him.

The "shock" (only because it makes the most sense and isn't what a Majority of the fans want is ) taking Tannehill at 4. Then trading a 5th for Hasselbeck, and trading Colt for a 6th.

We finally get a real QB in here (about freaking time) get a QB who if he has to sit can otherwise has played in a pro-style offense and can throw the ball.

if we take tannehill at four... might jump off a bridge.

Believe it or not, there are worse things than colt mccoy. Tannehill at four is a massive reach and could set this franchise back a few years.

Hope that's not the "shocker" that happens this year.

I hate that argument because the opposite will set us back longer and that is starting Colt. I have a feeling regardless who we draft that if Colt struggles the "fans" will call whomever a bust and that we need to get Colt more weapons.

Also I think Gabbert is the only QB that started in the NFL last year that I wouldn't want over Colt and you can talk me out of that (meaning taking Gabbert over Colt).

How does drafting Tannehill set the franchise back? If you stick with Colt that means he starts 2.5 years and allowed you to "miss" out on better options for those 2.5 years. There have been rumors on Philly, KC, Buffalo and Miami trading up to get Tannehill. Why is it good for them but bad for us? BTW I will take all their starting QBs over Colt all day and twice on Sunday.

Thats stupid. On here, Ive seen zero people who stick up for colt and blame the offense on someone other than him. Almost all of the fans realize that we need to fill the quarterback position still.

You would take Grossman, Ponder, Skelton, and Blaine Gabbert over mccoy? ok...

Despite Gabbert being the epitome of shittiness, Jones-Drew still led the league in rushing yards. Despite Ponder being terrible, Foster still had a very good season. Gore also had a good year despite Smith not being able to throw the ball long range and an almost nonexistent passing game.

Honestly, judging from your posts, it seems you have a personal vendetta against mccoy. You fail to acknowledge that the browns led the league last year in drops, and that somehow that could affect his success.

Draft Richardson. All those other quarterbacks that are shitty didnt seem to impact the performance of the running game that much. hell, even a year ago peyton had a decent running year and that really opened the field up for mccoy. He won't be called a bust because mccoy is bad, i can assure you that.

Draft some weapons for mccoy. I wonder what his numbers would have looked like last season without all of the dropped passes. Give him a year with good receivers, and see what he does. If he sucks majorly, then we know for sure and we will be drafting low enough again to snag a true franchise quarterback. If he doesn't suck, then give him more time. Win - Win. Unless you hate colt, and you do.

It absolutely will set this franchise back if we squander the number four pick on a major reach to grab a quarterback who has shown as little as Tannehill. At four, he's a HUGE reach. Instead of having a quarterback who might develop into a good quarterback, we could have the best running back prospect since adrian peterson. Thats much more of a sure thing, imo. Tannehill, in order to be groomed correctly, wouldn't even start next season.

Finally, if mccoy plays shitty next year with a better supporting cast, then the franchise qb we grab with our low draft spot next year will come into a team with a beast running back, decent receivers, and a good defense.

Again I have said the drops didn't affect the game much. If you were paying attention I used targetting data. Little was targeted 121 times on the season dropped 12 and caught 61. Where were the other 48 that were thrown his way? MoMass was targeted 74 times and caught 37 again not all of them were drops. You would think a guy with 74 targets should have at least 50 receptions.

Again I hate the argument of getting the franchise QB next year. I don't see one that is a "Franchise" QB in next years draft. One may emerge but as of now I will pass on most of them. Also how do you know we don't have decent WRs when they never had a decent QB throwing them the football? It is a catch 22. Rookie WRs aren't going to help much if at all. So after we get the "talent" around Colt and he still doesn't perform everyone will say that he needs yet another year because he had "young" talent out there and they need to gain more experience. It is this philosophy that has set this team back years.

Not only that I don't "hate" Colt. He needs to be replaced. I am just one of the few that actually understands the game of football and how to analyze players and not look at it from some mythical perspective that a crap QB is going to get better with better talent around them. Go and analyze Colt's throws (if you understand how to) then come back and realize that he missed more throws than were "dropped".

Also I hope we draft TRich so defenses put 9 in the box and he gains only 2.0 yards per attempt so everyone can call him a bust. Or Blackmon and watch him "drop" passes and get his clock cleaned when he has to try to go up and get the ducks that were thrown last season.

McCoy threw 6 passes over 30 yards last year. None of them were caught in stride and each one the WR had to wait on the ball thus allowing the defender to make a play. If those passes had less air and were able to hit the WR in stride they are TDs. The biggest glaring hole on this team is obvious. Also you are failing to reconize that this is the 3rd year. If we don't show improvement and go 4-12 again with the current regime all or most of them will be gone. They won't be there to make the pick. So then I have to ask the question do you stake your job/career on Colt McCoy?
