2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
the simple fact that we even had the nerve to offer anything for the 1st pick has chillis running down my back
i love the front office aggrission and approach.

I think Henry was being sarcastic, because many of the Drummond fans have made up there mind and can be a little hostile to new arguments against Drummond, especially weak ones like this.

If anyone is vehemently advocating a position, it seems to be people saying no to Drummond. I think anyone with an ounce of logic should realize Drummond is a very real possibility and should be looked at extensively, though.

The Browns and Cavs both tried to get #1 in the draft....nice to see our franchises are starting to get aggressive to get better.

Except the Tribe :(

I'll give Dan and the front office this, they want to win.

Reading that makes me think that if the Cavs want MKG they will get him

From Alan Hahn (Knicks writer): First round picks cost guaranteed money. Some teams are being cost-conscious, so rather than take on a late 1st rounder, looking to deal. Knicks are capped-out, so need ways to add talent to improve roster. Draft is one way to do it, so they'll listen to anyone shopping a 1st.

Agreed. Outside of Davis, the Cavs will get the guy that they want. They won't allow themselves to leave draft night disappointed.

I love how the Drummond fans whine about Barnes and how he wasn't productive yet advocate taking Drummond......

From Chad Ford:

• Is Anthony Davis a lock for the No. 1 pick? Yes, and it's not even close. Forget about the fact that the Hornets are saying publicly that they are still considering their options. He's the guy.

You can also forget about them trading the No. 1 pick. Sources say the Cavs offered them No. 4, No. 24, No. 33 and No. 34 for No. 1. And sources said the Cavs got a firm and quick "No!"
that's it? i mean if you wanna make a run at davis at least make the best offer possible (that^ plus absorbing okafor and sending thompson)

Real talk:

Would you offer; #4, #24, next years unprotected #1, and absorb Okafor or Ariza's contract for Anthony Davis? Gotta be hard for the Hornets to turn that package down, imo.

Gilberts latest tweet.

"We will win a championship before AD and NOH!

there's a difference between what you're willing to offer, and what is simply disproportionately stupid. the above is the latter.

I feel like the Hornets should have at least strongly considered that deal.

They would then have #4, #10, #24, #33, #34

They have a strong need for a power-forward, so they could have either taken Robinson at #4, or offered Charlotte the #4 & #10 for #2 to assure that they land him.

I like Davis and was definitely hoping we could land him, but I do feel like this is a season where the #1 pick is trade-able. I think he could become simply a Marcus Camby type player, solid but not a #1 superstar. I would have had mixed feelings had they accepted.

I wonder what is holding us back from offering the same deal to Charlotte for #2. That being said, I would really like to use our 24 or even upgrade a few slots to assure we land Andrew Nicholson. Doron Lamb or John Jenkins would also fit the bill here.

Yep... the one team with a record over 500 is the one that is failing to be aggressive. But hey, the Browns and Cavs tried- brownie points!

Hey, it is all well and nice that the Cavs are aggressive. It paid off big when they lucked into the no. 1 with the Clippers pick. However, until Grant actually assembles this winning lineup I will wait for the chills and fell-good thoughts. He has alot to work with here, but as others have pointed out, could have had Tyler just last draft and wasn't every aggressive there. Good intentions have to show in actions here.
