Time to put Tyler Zeller in the starting lineup?

Tyler is going to be a stud I think, tonight, 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists and he hit some outside jumpers which were huge....

Not yet. However, if he keeps playing like he did tonight against Portland...

Zeller and Andy work very, very well together. They have great chemistry. I'm not sure how many games it will be, but TT's countdown to bench duty has officialy begun.

TZ with a couple huge blocks, rebounds, and big shots in late game situations...with TT on the bench.

It just seems like our offense runs so much smoother with Zeller and AV out there together although our defense might suffer a little bit but boy, TZ looked good tonight I thought....

Ya, his D hasn't quite caught up yet, but it's improving. He has the tools to be a good defender. He won't ever be great, but he's athletic and smart enough to be good. The offense just looks so much more fluid with him out there. It's actually 5 on 5 instead of 4 on 5. Once he gets established league wide, it will do wonders for opening up the paint. Guys will not be able to sag way off him when he's 18 feet out.

TT is bench player by nature. Zeller is a baller.

Start Andy and Zeller. Let TT learn through the second unit.

And he just makes excellent decisions with the ball in his hands. That interior passing was a thing of beauty.

I really believe this move is well on its way.

what do you mean "at this point?"

the season has already more or less gone to shit, the cavs are building for the future, and they have plenty of young players that should be playing as much as possible.

i understand (but disagree with) sliding thompson into the starting role at the start of the season. but his play hasn't justified him holding onto the position, nor is he really much different than starting another rookie.

To further that line of thinking I don't think anyone who didn't have knowledge of their experience level in the NBA could tell TZ is the rook out there. In many ways it's becoming readily apparent that TT is much more similar to rook status than TZ. Maybe he should still be making those Krispy Kreme deliveries.

Good to see him finally get his outside shot falling with consistency. Looked like a boss out there.

Agreed it seemed to give him a boost for his overall confidence that showed the rest of the game. Still don't think he'll ever be more than a rotation big but I'd be super happy if I was wrong.
