Alex Smith. He's run a spread offense, he's a proven NFL commodity, and he isn't a turn over machine like Vick.

I'll take it......I just keep thinking about how he got hurdled by Colin very easily.........but maybe Harbaugh really didn't like him.

Vince Young.

That head case loser is exactly where he belongs.

If Chip Kelly wants nothing to do with Weeden, I'd take Vick on a 2 year deal as a stop gap or Alex Smith for that matter.

I said a few days ago that McCoy would probably be a good #2 in Kelly's system. He's quick enough to use his feet, unlike Weeden.

Problem with Colt is that he doesn't have the body to take the pounding in the NFL, especially if Kelly plans to bring a similar system..

As a #2? Sure no problem...

Starter? Hell no...

Smith said Harbaugh saved his career.

They played golf together in the offseason, even as Smith was a free agent. They got along great... until the coaches realized Kaepernick could run better and make throws Smith cannot even attempt. There's no way Smith returns to San Francisco, but it wasn't because Harbaugh didn't get along with him.

So....this statement makes me not want Smith or Weeden in Kelly's offense......I really don't think allowing Colt to be the clear leading QB going into training camp would be a good idea.

I still see Vick as the best fit right now to make a push with what has been laid out.

I forgot to mention I have been on a light troll rampage.

Vince Young was once asked "Which of the following is the largest object?"

A. Tea kettle
B. Elephant
C. Car
D. The moon

He sat there for seconds confused beyond belief.

For now, we can speculate on what QB will be brought in or what QB best fits Kelly's offense..

But let me say this before I see every random QB's name thrown around..

The QB in any Kelly offense must be able to challenge a team vertically, must be an efficient passer and must get the ball out quick...

Kelly has been quoted before as to saying he wants a passer who can run, not an athlete who can throw... This offense, on the contrary to what people think, is not designed for the QB to be the main carrier... What the QB must do is challenge the defense with his legs and at the very least be a threat... He needs to threaten the defense with his legs but has to pass first..

Now Kelly has said he will mold his offense to his players and it's still up for debate what offense he will run in the NFL... But based on what we've seen in college, those are his requirements from college..

Do we think Vick can be an efficient passer? Certainly.....he has stats to prove it.

If we think our O-Line is that good (I'm not 100% sold) I don't see why giving Vick the opportunity to sit back and throw more would be a bad thing.
