I've been on his bandwagon, and this only reinforces it.

It would be nice to have his added size. I think that in shoes he is actually a touch bigger than TT, who measured in at 6'8" in shoes if I remember correctly.

With a smallish back-court already he will offer us much needed versatility that drafting a much smaller guy for the 3 spot wouldn't.

Tristan's measurements were very similar. 6'7.5" without shoes, 6'8.75" with shoes, 7'1.25" wingspan.

Measurements seal it for me

We need this kid on our team

Then trade up and grab a big

I almost want this kid here more than nerlens

Porter compared himself to Tayshaun Prince. Let's keep in mind Prince has averaged 12.6 ppg on 46/37/76, 4.6 rpg, 2.6 apt, 0.6 bpg, 0.6 spg and was drafted #23 overall . Those are not the stats you are looking for out of a #3-6 pick. If we do take him, I sure as hell hope Porter aims higher than fuckin' Tayshaun Prince.

Have you looked at that draft? Prince was at worst the 6th best player from that draft in the end, but his lack of elite athleticism probably had him drop. Now you look back and realize he's near the top, in a re-draft he would be among the top 6.

Welcome to the Porter bandwagon, friends.

We'll forgive you for considering Oladipo.

People who bring up the Prince comparisons have brought up his career averages, but Prince in his prime was a 14ppg guy and usually fourth banana Sheed, Rip, and Chauncey.

Truth is that Porter could be the third or fourth banana here, depending on TT's progress. But Thompson showed a bit of what he's capable of this season - especially once the calendar turned over in January.

He definitely would add some height to the team.

200 lbs. is pretty skinny for the small forward position. Assuming we resign Livingston we might have the most lengthy rail thin wing rotation in the league.

Imagine somehow getting gobert too. That would be some serious length.

Shut up. You were thinking it too.

All this talk about length... What about his girth?

If porter were any skinnier he wouldn't exist. If not about the girth or length anyway. It's how you work it. And Porter works it. That's what she said.

This may be going out on a limb, but Porter's standing reach showed up as only 8'9.5". Tristan, who is the same height without shoes and has a full inch shorter wingspan, has a 9'0.5" wingspan. I know that shoulder girdles and head heights can be different, but I'm wondering if Porter is trimming inches off his standing reach in an effort to bolster his vertical in the tests? Barnes showed up with, what, an 8'6" standing reach, which was pretty damn low as well for a guy with a 7' wingspan and is 6'8" in shoes? If Porter's true standing reach is really 3 inches higher, then a 33" vert suddenly goes to a 36" vert.

Just speculation, but that measurement does seem a tad low for a guy of his height and wingspan.

Yeah, shabazz who is a couple inches shorter to go along with a couple inch disadvantage in wingospan is only at a one inch disadvantage in standing reach? I also remember drummond with. 7'6" or so span with only a 9'1" standing reach. Something is very off with standing reach measurements. I saw an article where they said standing reach had the largest discrepancy between multiple measures; with one guy having a 4 inch differential, which is quite significant.

The odd thing with the standing reach that I've always wondered is how much a players posture effects it

Probably a lot. I'm 6'4 but dont have great posture, so my reach isn't that great, about 8'. Some more time doing yoga would probably help that, for me.

The more concerning thing to me is weight. A guy that could be listed at 6'9" couldn't break 200 lbs? I was hoping he would hit 210 as he does have a nice frame.

Porter is going to need to spend significant time in the weight room.

Dion will need to whip these guys into shape.
