If you could bring back any previous Cav for this next season.

Who would you bring back?

Big Z. We would have the best floor spacing in the NBA without giving up any size or rebounding.

If we would have had prime Z instead of Mozgov we would have won the finals, and that is not a knock on Timofey, but the spacing Z's automatic 18 footer would have provided for us with Tristan starting and with Love in a sling would have been invaluable. They wouldn't be able to play Z off the floor like they did Mozgov because we would have been able to respond better offensively, and eventually Iguodala(and Green) would have started missing shots again.

Cav's Shaq bc he was slightly still motivated and well....because of my man crush.

I have been swayed to the Mark Price / Kyrie backcourt.. instant titles. I fail to see how anyone is stopping that train. Sorry Mr Nance.

The offense would be fantastic with these guys, but the defense would be pretty bad. You could get away with it against a lot of teams as they wouldn't have the personnel to expose them, but certain key match ups would be brutal. Chicago it would be awful against, same goes for warriors, but you could get away with it against the spurs as Danny Green isn't really going to make either guy pay. The one great thing though is the warriors couldn't hide steph like they did throughout the playoffs. Making someone work on the defensive end can help reduce a guys effectiveness on offense.

I see a lot of people picking a replacement for Tristan. Remember, Tristan is going to be on the club no matter what next season. You don't really need to replace his production since he is pretty dang good in his role with the team. I feel weird sticking up for Tristan here because I have been one of his biggest critics since day 1.

Now if you want to bring a guy back because he was your favorite player, that is cool too.

I go with Larry Nance.

People forget, but when he first came into the league, he was a three. And when the Cavs played that Daugherty/Williams/Nance/Ehlo/Price lineup, that's basically what he played.

What that means is that you could use him at the 3 or 4, which would give is someone who could actually back up LBJ but also stretch the floor when used as a 4.

Could also make a good argument for Brad. A true low-post game
Plus, if you put him, Love, LBJ, Kyrie, anyone at the two, you'd have best passing team in history. Brad was a true master at interior passing in particular.

I have a soft spot for Ron Harper -- will never get over that trade -- but given his lack of shooting, he probably isn't the best fit.

That's a tough call between Nance and Hot Rod. Nance was obviously a much better player, but I can see the argument that Hot Rod's ability to play center is a plus. Even during his Cavs' years, Nance played a lot at the 3, so that's a point in his favor.

I just think Nance is really a David Griffin type of player. High basketball IQ, unselfish, good shooter. He would find a role here and fit in, although he would be severely underutilized, on the assumption Love would start over him.

I think Ehlo is actually a darkhorse candidate. Can play 2 or 3. Very crafty, smart player, solid defender, plus rebounder, good passer, clutch player, excellent long range shooter (poor FT shooter). Ehlo is one of my all-time favorites and would fill a need on this team. Not a huge need at this point unless Jefferson is washed up (which is conceivable). I just think he is the sort of guy who would accept a bench role for this team and thrive.

I just don't see the fit of Price playing alongside Irving. And Daugherty, while maybe it would work, would require more work to integrate into the team. Plus his defense was adequate at best. Just not convinced him taking minutes from Mozgov would be a good thing. Maybe that's wrong though.

I would take Ehlo over Person -- based on what this team needs -- and I think Daugherly over Ilgauskas, though I could probably be convinced otherwise on that.
