The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Steam Link is on sale for twenty bucks, both from Steam and Amazon, for those of you interested in streaming games from your PC to your living room. The controller is on sale as well.

Started replaying Tales from the Borderlands this week. I meant to finish it ages ago, but one of the updates ate my save game and I was too pissed when I found out at the time to restart it. This is definitely one of Telltale's better games. Just great writing and voice acting. Laugh out loud funny from time to time. It's very impressive how well Telltale tends to nail the franchises they write for. We've seen it with Walking Dead, Fables, Borderlands, Batman, and Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones is probably the worst of their post-Walking Dead games that I've played, and that was still pretty good. The only real issue with it is that it was tied to the TV universe, so there's only so much they are able to do because they can't really alter major plot lines. That's not really an issue with any of their other games except Wolf Among Us (it was a prequel to Fables, so obviously they couldn't kill off any major characters). However, I thought they worked around their constraints a lot better in Wolf Among Us, which is still my favorite Telltale game so far.

Anyway, Tales from the Borderlands is great. Definitely recommend it, even if you're like me and haven't really played much actual Borderlands. Prior knowledge of the franchise isn't necessary to enjoy it, and I think it might have the best voice acting of any Telltale series. Patrick Warburton in particular is great as the dick boss to one of your two controllable characters.

played with both at a buddy's house and theyre pretty legit. the controller especially, the haptic feedback is crazy nice and the onscreen keyboard lets you use both track pads at once so you can get pretty fast at typing. I asked santa for both of those...hoping he (she, my mom lol) pulls through :biggrinthumb:

Got my Steam Controller in the mail yesterday. Sadly, it's technically a Christmas present from the parents, so I have to hold off on actually using it for a month. Kind of sucks they had it shipped here since now I just have to stare at it constantly. :chuckle:

Still waiting on the Link. It was out of stock on Amazon, so hopefully it arrives before Christmas. Would be lame to have the controller but nothing to use it with. I mean, I guess I could use it with my PC but I already have an Xbox controller that works perfectly fine.

Apparently the Ubisoft store is fucking up and games are hella cheap right now.. Shadow of Mordor GOTY for $1.74, Someone said FIFA 17 was like $8, Sleeping Dogs Definitive for $3.33... price is lower in your cart. Im trying my luck now. the games can be activated in steam, as well

Man, Sleeping Dogs was such a great game. One of the best open world games I've ever played. Just a ton of fun from start to finish.

Finished up Tales from the Borderlands tonight, by the way. Fantastic game. The voice acting for Handsome Jack is some of the best I've encountered in any game ever. He's just such a likable prick bad guy. Honestly, this game probably has some of the best voice acting in any comedic game outside of Portal 2 (imo the absolute pinnacle of video game writing/acting) and maybe Curse of Monkey Island (a classic in desperate need of a modern remaster).

Highly recommend it if you like Telltale's other games, or Borderlands I guess. Only vaguely familiar with the series itself, and that was based on maybe ten hours combined for the first two games thanks to Steam sales.

Moving on to Telltale's Michonne series, mostly because season three of Walking Dead hits around Christmas and it's time to get ready!

Good lookin.. I fucking love RB6... What the hell happened to Ghost Recon btw? Do they still make that series?

EDIT: This deal is PS4 only? Fuck!

Just wait until the Steam Christmas Sale and it'll probably be pretty cheap on the PC as well. Green Man Gaming will probably do a nice Christmas sale as well.

Final Fantasy 15 is fucking amazing. The day has come and so has my life. Honestly it is a fun time.

Finished up Walking Dead: Michonne. Solid but unspectacular Telltale outing. It also felt like they kind of ripped off their own Tales from the Borderlands series with the two main bad guys, who looked and acted a hell of a lot like Vallory and August from that series.

All in all, I'd recommend it if you like Telltale's other stuff or particularly their Walking Dead games, or if you're a big fan of TWD comics and want to get to see what Michonne was doing during a period she was absent during the comics. I also think it gave some nice insight about her character.

The third episode was by far the best. The opening is great and sets up the episode brilliantly. It slows down a bit after that, but the finale is a lot of fun and has some tough choices. I'm really curious as to how differently the final confrontation with Norma can go down based on your choices, both during the conversation and previously.

I'm assuming that Randall gets killed while your hostage either way, but I guess that's not a given. I opted to kill him myself, but based on how episode three opens, I'm guessing that Sam kills him if you choose not to right before the radio call comes through offering a hostage exchange.

I'm curious to see if this short series ties into the third season of Telltale's Walking Dead series at all.

Playing Shining Force II on ssega.com.

Great memories and still a fantastic rpg game.
