Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hope Dorsey got Hunt to sell his apartment in the 9 before he signed him. Too many incidents happen in that building. Get Hunt and every other Browns player out of that place.

Cheating on your girlfriend isn't against the law.

Assault is.

And if we're gonna start suspending players for cheating on their significant others, might as well just cancel the league.
And Hunt was never arrested for the incident, let alone convicted.

I absolutely think the guy trying to cheat on the woman carrying his child is a bigger scumbag than the guy involved in an altercation like the one Hunt was involved in. Hunt was drunk, the woman allegedly called him a n*****, and he shoved her. NFL players have done much worse and kept their jobs.

1. Being drunk isn't an excuse
2. Her calling him that is unconfirmed and not an excuse
3. He did assault her, violently enough to warrant charges if she chose
4. NFL players having done worse and kept their job is sort of the point as to why this is such a problem

It was wrong, there is no excuse. You're either willing to overlook that and rehabilitate him, or just say no. There's no real need to be defensive or make excuses that it "really wasn't that bad."

It was, but they're signing him anyway.

I mean, no one's saying the dude should be out of the NFL. What he did obviously wasn't as bad as what some other players have done, although he's apparently had two other similar issues and that will no doubt factor into his eventual punishment.

At any rate, a guy who regularly gets drunk and gets in fights is someone who should be suspended by the NFL. Just because he doesn't get charged doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong.

To be clear, there are a few people saying he should be out of the NFL.

I can't smooth over all the ruffled feathers in the forum over this signing, but Id like to pass along one comforting factor.

Hunt's behavior cost him half of last season and it will cost him some of this upcoming season, but more importantly...

...this signing does not positively or negatively affect the Sportscoach $25 dollar Amazon gift card contest.

Why are the “moderators” on this forum allowing people to post jokes about beating up women?

Also, the title of this thread doesn’t need an exclamation point. Not everyone here is excited about another scum bag who’s violent towards women being signed by their favorite football team.

I've seen some people argue that he should be out of the NFL. Some people don't deserve second chances, but what Hunt did doesn't put him in that category. He made a mistake, he'll be punished with a suspension, and for his sake hopefully he learns from it.

Does the choice of an exclamation point over a period really get you that worked up? Serious question.

I welcome members to report any offensive posts. This far, nobody has reported a post in this thread. The report feature is protocol on the forum not one staff member's personal gut call in the moment.

Overall I think the discussion has focused on who must bear the responsibility of a player who has made a serious lapse of judgement: Is the NFL doing enough? Is the franchise making a mistake when they sign a troubled player? Is the court responsible for punishment or the employer?

These are nuanced discussions so far today. If you are looking for the low hanging fruit on either side of a joke... Try jumping into the discussion of ideas over gut reactions. That is when a forum is at its best.

Yeah, an exclamation point suggests that it’s something to celebrate. Also, you’re cool with a joke about the Browns needing a kicker? I’m sure you would be giggling if Hunt had assaulted a woman you knew or cared about.

James Harrion pretty much assaulted/scared a women to the point that her cellphone broke.

This is...sadly...nothing new.

The NFL actually paying attention to this shit is very recent...

I'm not excited about Hunt being brought in here honestly, but you can't ban him from football.

People have done far worse and gotten far more lenient sentences than what Hunt has already gotten/going to get.

If you ban Hunt, then you need to ban Tyreke Hill, Joe Mixon, Terrell Suggs, Adrian Peterson, Big Rape, and probably others I'm forgetting about. Whether they all actually deserve to be banned is a different discussion, but you can't ban Hunt if Joe fuckin' Mixon is still allowed to be playing football.

Good. Ban them all.

The Browns made the most sense for Hunt and Dorsey isn't afraid of the controversy.

If the next time Hunt plays is after a 10 or 12 game suspension and some sort of rehabilitation program, then this move won't look as bad.

Wasted year of his prime, public humiliation, and loss of income. He's facing the consequences for his actions whether the Browns signed him or someone else did.
