Couple thoughts after reading the past few pages:

Jets aren't going to be TERRIBLE. And personally, I would rather play the Jets Week-1 in a primetime game or not over the Patriots, Rams, Seahawks to get some real game time action in besides meaningless preseason games.

That schedule is most likely fake, but if our 1st game is the MNF gotw, I don't care if it's against Mt. Union, I am fucking psyched.

Hue Jackson would have lost to Mt. Union.

What's this about? Is he threatening to not sit out without a new contract?

OTA's are voluntary, though most guys show up anyway.

In Odell's case, it started off being about the Giants and Browns having different schedules and him having already set a vacation. I suppose it may also have to do with him having made plans for time off while with the Giants because his familiarity with that offense and the players meant he didn't need OTA's. Obviously, things changed when he was traded to a brand new team. There may also be a new contract aspect to it, but nobody's talking about that if it is the case.

Odell Beckham won’t be full participant in Browns offseason program

I would hope that Dorsey does not renegotiate his contract. We traded valuable picks and Jabrill Peppers to the Giants for an under-contract Odell. Having to renegotiate his contract unbalances those scales.

If we envision him being here for a while, as an organization, it seems silly to start the relationship off on a sour note just for the sake of "putting our foot down".

I wouldn't give him a massive year to year bump but if he wants a slight market adjustment on his contract, hear him out....see what may work for both parties and go from there.

Biggest thing for the Browns is just keep it out of the media. Do it quietly, see what might make he and his agent happy and then either get it done or clearly communicate (behind closed doors) why the team would like him to ride out a year or two of the deal.

Having to renegotiate his contract unbalances those scales.

Monetary considerations just do not unbalance the scales here IMO. OBJ is an absolutely ELITE talent. We traded a collection of less valuable things for one of the best players in the league. Our only job now is to manage him as a player / personality, do what we can (within reason) to keep him happy and focus on continuing to create an organizational culture that guys want to be a part of.

Good lord Odell burned Gettleman.

I still don't see how you can realistically say the Giants situation is more on Odell than the front office.
