Glen you need some more donations?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would love for this to be a pay site... I would sign up immeadiately and be a lifetime member

I think you should think about it glen

If it was just the emails, perhaps you can add some sort of throttle back on that or just turn it off on busy days.

Even just a dollar a month, what regular here wouldnt pay a dollar a month, or better yet, $10 a year. That means you must shell out $10 to sign up, keep the traffic to those that really want to be here. Anyone here think $10 is to much to pay for this sight for a full year?

I think a mod should start a thread about that to see what people really think. There are a lot of quality posters that i dont want to scare away for the $10.

Where do I sign up?

Personally, I think this is a great idea. I've donated more than that already this year and I'm thinking about donating more. This a great site and you are right: the membership fee would definitely keep out a lot of the riff-raff.

These guys will be making $10 donations very soon with the Cavaliers record:

I'd rather just get a premium content section, such as Wine and Golds posts.

Glen, my 2 pennies worth is I'd be glad to pay $10 and not because I post so much but rather to get the insight of the knowledge base that is realcavsfans.com. Some of the newer members are also very knowledgeable and I suspect the more irrational ones will disappear as quickly as they came. Keep up the good work and I'd like to think a lot of our more silent members also appreciate the updates and insights.

BTW, where'd the thanks button go?

I am talking about preimum per month pay for this site and why not

we get premium information...I pay 10 bucks a month for my 2 Michigan sites and I sure as hell would do the same damn thing for this site

I would only want glen or whoever to run an update on the site to make sure the thing is running properly like it normaly and also expect to keep the good info like w&g or max posts or whatever on the boards...we have these same kind of insiders who are not paid or expected to contrinbute on my other boards that i pay for...we just respect thier info and we don't remove the info from the boards (thats the gist at least)

I would do that here in a heartbeat... you offer a monthly deal and a cheaper yearly option...use the money to keep the site running as the best damn fan site in the business and to keep the trash out

I would pay $10 a month, but the problem with that is I cant, I'm only 17 and dont have any mastercards or anything and my parents are really struggling for money so i dont want to have to ask them for money, especially if they dont know where it is going, even if I told them they could trust this site, I dont think they would. I agree it would keep out alot of riff-raff but it will stop people from coming in who dont post that much and cant pay for it.

If there is a membership fee, then youve lost me.

I'd rather not have a monthly fee, but perhaps a one time signup fee would work. SomethingAwful requires a $10 registration fee, and that tends to keep the most lame trolls off. And for every time you do get a troll, hey, you made $10 bux off of him. Repeat every time he gets banned.

Just think, Heath alone would've made this website like $1k.

We've never experienced this before. Now that we know about the problem it shouldn't be an issue from here on out.

I'm more of a reader on this site, but I would have no problem paying $5-$10 per month. Instead of making everyone pay a monthly fee, I think it should be voluntary, but strongly encouraged. Especially since some of our members are young and others have fiscal concerns, I don't think they should have to pay, because they offer great contributions. Those of us who can pay, I'm sure, will be glad to pay. I've seen the idea of other money making schemes, such as making tshirts, which would also be a really intriguing idea. Furthermore, maybe some members can buy a blog space for a price. Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

I have the money, i just wouldnt want too. You would lose me as a member.

Money is a very personal thing to everyone. Once you mention money, it scares almost anyone away. The reason some people are already willing to do that is because they have been a member here for a while and already familiar to the surroundings.

If a fee is a requirement, the registrations on the site will go down dramatically, and so would the popularity of the site, we should really be doing the opposite. Continue to make the site grow and make it successful as possible. Bum posters come and go, but they never last. It's just a natural thing to a message board. Every site has to go through it.

With that being said, I will never demand any money to be apart of this site. It just sounds too snooty. We really should just be humble members of the greatest Cavs board on the internet. Not point at others and belittle them for not being a part of our community, which is the vibe that people will get if we slap membership fee on them.
