With the first game being played TODAY at 3:05PM EST against the Reds (@ the Reds, for what it's worth), I figured it would be a good time to start a thread for all Spring Training discussion.

LET'S GO TRIBE!!!

BTW, I assume the game will be on 1100.

Spring training needs to be be shortened. They are fun for about 2 games then you really just start looking at this:

They never should've gotten rid of that song, i love that Indians song!

I really despise MLB rules. If I want to listen to the game online without paying $20 a year, I should be fucking able to. What is the fucking difference between that and actually listening on the radio?

The service you're paying for is to listen to out of market games.

If you want the Indians game and you're in Ohio, get a radio.

I have a radio. WKBN is replaying the YSU loss from yesterday, and I can't get WTAM in my room.

You can listen to audio for in market games. It's the mlb.tv video package that has blackout rules.

Interesting, didn't know that.

Yeah, I got the mlb.tv package and the Tigers, Reds and Indians are blacked out in my area but I can still get audio feeds. For the $20 audio only package you're basically paying for the service to be able to listen to any MLB team all year.

OT question, but does anyone feel the Tribe season opener is more exciting than the Cavs or Browns season openers?

I do. I think it's a combination of spring/summer is near and it feels like a holiday by skipping work/school to go to the game.

Yea, the Cavs are my favorite team by far in Cleveland. However, no matter how much the Indians disappoint me over the years, im still an absolute sucker for opening day. But like huber said, I think a lot of it has to do with knowing spring is here. And it does kind of feel like a holiday.

And then we lose on opening day, and then the people who aren't in it for the long haul stop watching. :chuckles:

WKBN finally stopped playing meaningless YSU basketball. T-Ham, how I missed you so.
