No. No. No. No. No. No.

Not up for debate.

I would rather suck for another year and get Barkley. We won't win with Flynn.

I posted this one in another thread as well:

“You break down the footwork and you break down the throwing motion. We have a quarterback profile tape and we break that down. I know Matt has improved his velocity and that comes through strength and conditioning and proper, better fundamentals than when he arrived in Green Bay so he’s improved there. And probably the most important part of it, is just the total grasp of the offense.”

This is a very positive sign for me. I know that he had a very weak arm when he entered the draft... like bottom of the draft class weak. If this was a conditioning and fundamentals issue, it isn't a stretch to think that the issue has been corrected. He is coming from one of the best franchises for developing quarterbacks.

Aaron Rodgers on Matt Flynn:"The team that gets Matt is going to be very happy, I can promise you. They'll be getting a top-15 quarterback."

I see the nice deeper balls, sharp intermediate passes, but can he check down?

Aaron Rodgers on Matt Flynn:"The team that gets Matt is going to be very happy, I can promise you. They'll be getting a top-15 quarterback."

I don't put a lot of stock into Rodgers' quote. What else is he supposed to say about him? It will be more interesting to see what Miami does. If Philbin, who has watched Flynn more than anyone, does not show interest then that is a huge red flag.

Greg Cossel was on KNR a few days ago and i didn't like at all what he said about Flynn....

-he basically said that you would have to manipulate the pass game and play calling for Flynn to be succesful ("like for the majority of NFL QBs who aren't top level passers") and that it's still a crapshoot with him because you're basing it on 2 NFL starts with "arguably the best QB coach in the league in Mike McCarthy"
-after the host of the show compared Flynn to McCoy ("if McCoy sat behind Rodgers for a while couldn't he basically become the exact same QB as Flynn.....") Cosell answered that he "isn't terribly off base with that comparison and that Flynn's arm is only slightly stronger"
-he also said a lot about Colt (he watched every throw Colt has made in the league) and if you read a bit between the lines i think he has serious doubts whether he can be a starting QB

he also answered a few questions about RG3/Luck...

you can listen to the interview here:

No.

But my only reasoning is that I hate hate hate when some guy's stock sky rockets after 1 or 2 starts in the league (on a stacked offense against some terrible pass defenses). At least Cassel and Kolb did it for more than a few games.

If we can't get RGIII and he can be had relatively inexpensively, then I guess I wouldn't throw a tantrum.

Preseason stats don't mean much. Can't go off this.

He tore up an Eric Wright secondary. I think I could throw 6 TD with that offense versus Eric Wright.

I would rather suck for another year and get Barkley. We won't win with Flynn.

The problem is we could very well suck next year and still have no shot at Barkley.

IMO we have to do something about the QB position right now, because we have the opportunity to do so; one we might not have down the road.

Doesn't matter who he did it against. Throws are throws, reads are reads, etc... and he made very nice throws and reads.

Get him, whether or not you can get RG3. Better option now and in the future.

RG3 is what this City needs, fuck everything else. Flynn ain't shit! One outburst game against a Lions weak secondary and people want him as a franchise QB? Serviceable at best. Flynn = Holcomb.
