2012 Baseball Offseason Player Movement Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone want to lay odds the Jays don't do shit?

Melky at two years, 16 million...

Shaun Marcum visiting too, probably will sign if they're continuing to throw money around.

Spending sprees like this rarely work out, especially given the talent level acquired (more of a consistency issue for some guys).

Jesus, what a team they are building up there.

Isn't that what people said about Miami last year?

Spending a ton of money for a third place finish in the AL East.

I don't remember people saying it. Once Ozzie was announced as manager, all expectations went away.

Reyes is aging and forever injured.

Buerhle is not nearly worth his contract.

Johnson has arm issues.

Buck is a reserve.

Bonifacio is a pinch runner.

Cabrera has had half of a good season and we know why.

Pretty good deal for a stop gap OF.

I love how b00bie rips every team in the league but never finds fault with the Indians' moves. This guy even rips on the AL champ Tigers, but the Indians? Nope, too much to criticize their "highly respected" front office.

Can you show me where I praise the Indians front office?

Anywhere?

Half of your posts on this site are dedicated to me, so I do want you to know I notice you noticing me.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, former Indians manager Manny Acta has been strongly reviewed by the Blue Jays.
This confirms earlier speculation that the Jays had interest in Acta. Olney reports that Jim Tracy and Jim Riggleman are also among the final names being discussed. The Jays are believed to be "close" to hiring their next manager. Acta, who was fired by the Indians late in 2012, has a history with GM Alex Anthopoulos.

This would be hilarious.

All of those saying the Jays really are making an effort and praising their front office, only to go out a hire a manager you all hated.

Yes, all of us hated him...

Hyperbole much?

And the Jays decide to go back to the past and hire John Gibbons (Tor. Mgr. from 2004-2008)....
