You gotta get through that long intro segment. Once you do the game really opens up.

I thought that might be the case. I thought I got past that intro though. I guess even if I did I didn't get more than like 5 or so minutes past it.

You end up in that village and then there's a ballista to break. I'm there.

I'm trying to picture exactly where you are, but it's been a while since I played the game. I figured the ballista was in that long castle sequence at the beginning. Am I wrong? Did you get to the part where you escort the redhead through the woods in her protective magic shell while elves attack you? Because right after that is where the game opens up quite a bit, giving you the option to take on side quests and explore. Prior to that it was pretty linear between the opening battle sequence, exploring the small city area the game drops you in, and then the escape from prison.

It's hard for me to come up with an exact estimate but I'd say the opening to the game is probably about two hours long.

So if any Canadians are interested in COD AW, on the PSN store for PS4 at least, the game+season pass is 109.99. The base game costs 69.99, dlc 49.99, total of 120 bucks, so basically 10 bucks off. Pretty good deal, about 20 bucks off if I were to buy at retail (tax).

Pretty good deal until you realize you're paying 110 bucks for a game you'll only play for a year. :chuckle:

Haha yup true enough. Still, if I buy AW it will be with the SP anyways, so a decent way to save some money. Just waiting to find out what the coop mode is.

It's different with the Treyarch games (for me), Zombies is an experience you can only get once every two, or rather three years now, so buying all the dlc is pretty much necessary. Not to mention I buy a hell of a lot less games when I buy zombies. I have about 10 I am going to be buying over the next 4 or 5 months.

September 7th, Target has buy one get one 25% gaming cards. They also sell Steam cards (not pictured). so its basically free money (buy two $50 cards for $87.50 for example)

Glad I was finally able to break free of that franchise. The games have been going steadily downhill, but Ghosts was an absolute disaster.

Looking forward to Destiny here in a little less than a week. Any word on whether or not they are going to let beta players keep their stats and equipment?

I saw Destiny tweeted that everything would be reset a few weeks ago. They mentioned to get one last look at their character, or something along those lines.

So apparently, think it's US only (could he wrong), at certain retailers 7th through 13th, you can get an XB1 plus a completely free retail game. This includes bundles, so a Madden bundle + Destiny for 400 bucks. That even tempts me... By the time I buy one of these things for Fable, I expect them to pay me lol.

Just wondering if you know Mdog
Is this only on microsoft.com? Or can I go to Target or GameStop? And is the free game a digital download or a physical copy of the game?

Has anyone tried that Velocity 2x game for PS plus members?

It's actually pretty awesome. It's a mixture of side scrolling platform and 2d space shooter. Strangely addicting and pretty challenging in some areas. There's also some nice twist's to the genres with teleportation added in. Some of these indies are really impressive.

Says participating retailers here

I assume that means most of the major retailers. If you hold off until the 9th, assuming you want both of them you can get Madden and Destiny for 399, which is awesome, that's actually literally cheaper than a base PS4 is here (459).

Supposedly some Canadian retailers have a similar deal, if any Canucks are interested, NHL 15 qualifies I believe. And Walmart has PVZ GW for 20 bucks in Canada for PS4.

Cowboom had used Xbones for $230 last night, sold out real quick lol
