You guys complain about dribble drive penetration with Marion in the lineup. Be careful what you wish for with Allen.

I didn't panic when this team fell below .500 a month ago. They rattled off an 8 game winning streak.

We watched these guys flip a switch against teams like Brooklyn turning a 1 point game into a 25 point gap in a flash. It's simply a matter of bringing it every night. This loss may have been the slap in the face that they needed.

They are going to be the most talented team on the floor every night. We don't need a blockbuster shakeup. Maybe a defensive big, but even without it we are a Finals contender, IMO. Play with confidence but don't play like it's going to be handed to you. Once they decide to exert a collective effort every given night, this team will soar.

They will nab a 2 seed. There are 3.5 months of basketball left. Once they get hot, look out.

I really believe that the Cavs are going to have to sacrifice some offense for defense at some point, roster-wise. You have to keep teams out of the paint if Kevin Love is one of your bigs. And, right now, the group of Miller, Waiters, Dellavedova and Jones can't do that effectively, and, in fact, two of those guys need to be hidden on defense also. Ideally, I'd like to see this team add two big wing defenders somehow. Another big would be nice, but there's no way one moderately talented shot-blocker helps that much. With two wings, the Cavs could put Marion back at the sf-pf spot where I think he'd be much better served.

First if all we gotta pin point who isn't doing their jobs or whose redundant and that's who we trade

Imo that's Varejao in both cases

But oops he's pretty much unreadable because his contract becoes crazy next year and it would be such a horrible move because of his loyalty

Next I gotta say its Waiters, Marion

Add the Haywood thing and I think our best trade package will be Waiters, Miami pick, Haywood and Marion. That gives you a vet who can play now a young guy who has star potential, a GREAT pick, and frees up 10 million in the future

That definitely gets us pretty much any realistic player we wants

We can't move any of the vets that signed here because of Lebron (Marion, JJ, and Miller) that would just alienated future potential ring chasers. Varajoa is our "bridge" (think Haslem) so we can't really trade him either, let alone the extension we gave him.

That leaves our only assets as Waiters, Haywood's contract, rotational trash (Harris, Kirk, Amundson, Price, and a to lesser extent, Delly), and of course pick$$$$

So Waiters isn't exactly beating on the world, Haywood contract's value peaks at the end of the year, and no second round picks. Meaning our most valuable trade-able assets are our first rounds picks (which teams know won't be in the lottery).

IMO, our scouts should be busting their fuckin asses scouring the entire fuckin Globe to find guys like Antic, Jerome Jordan, Rudy Gobert, KJ McDaniels, Beverly, etc so we can sign them. Don't bring me the fuckin delladovas, harris, kirk, and cherry's of the world

Btw, it's MEM not MIA's pick that we have left.

Griffin screwed up by trading all of our assets without a care in the world this summer. No reason why we should have also had to throw in Miami's 1st round pick when the T-wolves were getting back Andrew Freaking Wiggins for Love who was going to bolt anyways! :banghead: He also got fleeced in the Brooklyn/Boston trade as well trading our 2016 1st round pick. Can't help but think that we could easily have Timofey Mozgov right now if we just had one of those picks to trade along with the Memphis pick. The Nuggets would easily say yes to a trade where they would be getting back Miami's 1st and the Memphis 1st for Mozgov.

Griffin will be the reason the cavs never win a title...could use those 2 assets now...

Outside of the Big 3 we basically have specialist and some don't even do they one thing they are known for at a high level. You have to have high basketball IQ guys with overall basketball skills. Honestly I would plug Mike Miller into the starting line up. Plug Marion into the second unit for defensive purposes. Find a way to stagger the Big 3 minutes so that two of them are on the court at all time. Joe Harris shouldn't even be in the rotation at this point. Our rotation line up should be Kyrie,Lebron,Love,Miller,TT,Andy, Dion, Delly, Jones and Marion. Let those 10 develop chemistry and stop trying to look for the sub of the night. Its no reason Joe Harris should get in a game before Jones. All of those guys minus a couple have high basketball IQ.

I feel the team really only needs one of the other (Wing or Rim Protector) to win it all...when the effort is there the cavs are damn good and in the playoffs we will get focused lebron...the whole big 3 has not been cooking together at full tilt yet either

That loss was embarrassing.
I can see them losing a game but for this team to be thrashed is ridiculous.
They need both a perimeter defender and a rim protector.

These posts were 14 minutes apart people. FOURTEEN!

I'd be cool if the Cavs traded Love at this point. While he is an All Star on the offensive side, the defense is awful. Have to think that if you take him off the floor and put in a legit center moving TT to 4 with Andy coming off bench it would work. Sure we would lose a scoring option, but what good is a guy that puts up 24 a night if he gives up the same on the defensive side. This isn't baseball where you can DH a guy who only has a bat. I think Love's defense will cost us more games than his offense will win.

I don't know who the hell we'd trade him for, but if I saw they traded him I wouldn't be upset in the least bit. Feel like he is another Carmelo, destined to put up good numbers on a mediocre or bad team.
