Corey Brewer Traded to Houston

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rockets get Ronny T and Troy Daniels goes to Minny

We could have matched that if we really wanted to. We could have jettisoned Ronny Turiaf to another team and sent them Amundson or Harris. Obviously Corey Brewer isn't a "can't miss guy". Griffin has other plans.

Again, the quality of looks Marion gets vs the quality of looks Brewer gets are completely different at any point in their careers because his jumpshot just isn't respectable. It's the same thing with Andy. They'll live with the jumpers. But Andy has actually started making them, and I think he'd actually average a ton more points if that was the only play they ran for him. In terms of Brewer, I mostly see him guarded closely because his jumper and his drive 'look' more respectable. For Marion, you don't even need to put your hands up until he's under the basket. People just let him have whatever he wants beyond that, which is why he should be a lot better at it.

Anyway, now that Brewer has been traded, we're going to have to look hard at other defensive/off the ball player options.

Well that should probably tell us something about Brewer's shot selection, right? If you're a career 29% 3 point shooter then you probably should be shooting nothing other than wide open looks.

I'm not a big Brewer fan so not that upset but sadly the Cavs really couldn't have topped the Rockets offer (unless of course they severely overpaid by offering the Memphis pick, TT, Waiters, etc). Per Woj, Houston apparently also included 2 future 2nd round picks for Brewer. Outside of the Memphis pick, Griff and Gilbert have dealt all of our tradable picks for the forseeable future.

We have 3 All-Star players. THREE. One being the best player in the world.

If a GM can't find complimentary pieces to solidly a championship roster with that core, then he's probably incompetent or drunk.

Maybe we can flip a deal this season but we were clearly set up to win a title NEXT year. We have our exceptions to spend as well as Haywood's expiring deal.

I don't see who else we are going to get. A blockbuster is going to be a parallel move at best (like the hughes gooden trade). It cleared up some space to sign Mo Williams, but neither of those teams made it back to the finals - off topic.

We need to start thinking about adding small pieces like Brewer if we want to make the finals this year and get some experience. He is no all star but he would of been 5x better then what we got currently at shooting guard.

Everyone is looking for Grant to wave some magic wand and somehow land a player like Afflalo for nothing. Its just not going to happen given our current assets. We need to think small by adding a few more rotational players so we can get make a deep playoff run.

Yeah, cause we have nothing better than Troy Daniels...maybe we just didn't like Brewer as much as the media made it sound like we did.

It wasn't Troy Daniels alone that got it done. It was the combination of him plus the 2nd round picks that sealed the deal. We could have got Brewer for Joe Harris had Griffin not decided that 2nd round picks were worthless and traded them all away for nothing.

Do you really think Corey Brewer would have made THAT much of a substantial difference?

Brewer isn't an all star. Have u read the reports though? Mike Miller is our starting shooting guard. Mike f*cking Miller. I would have given up a 1st rounder for Brewer. Our defensive is about to go from 14th to dead last

Unlike 1st round picks, the Stepien rule is not in place for 2nd round picks. We can trade as many 2nds as we wanted as long as we follow the 7 year rule. We currently have 4 of our own 2nd round picks, and a 2nd rounder from the Clippers which should cash in that can be traded. You're grasping at straws man.

Realistically the next 2nd round pick we own is our 2019 2nd rounder. All of those other 2nd rounders owed to us have crazy conditions that will never be met. We will never see those 2nd round picks from Boston, Philly, LAC, or Sac. They picks are worthless and were acquired so it appeared the Cavs actually got some intrinsic value in those trades when in actuality they only wanted the ending contracts and TPE.

Shevd is good get for HOU too. Good role player with size for the 1-2.
