Bump for a couple reasons.
One many of us may go back home during the Finals
Any new cool places to eat over the last 12 to 18 months?
Also how are the Flats looking> is the project on track?

Not new to Cleveland, but in terms of downtown, there is a barrio that opened up right on the corner of E4th facing the Q. There is also Urban Farmer that opened up in the bottom of The Westin. A little pricey, but I am a fan. I have inexcusably not been there yet, but people love the downtown Heinens. May be missing something, but nothing else is coming to mind right now.

edit: There is also a new rooftop bar at The 9 that opened at the beginning of the month. Azure. Have not been there yet, either.

As for the Flats, I haven't heard anything about that for a while/nor been down there to check progress.

The project has been moving pretty steadily. There is a snag in the taxes, which is more technical in nature. Big enough issue to halt some stuff soon, though.

The group working with the City of Cleveland had been trying to pass an ordinance allowing the "East Bank" area to add an additional sales tax; however, both Council and Mayor Jackson are not on board with raising taxes in particular places within the City. It's now back to the group to try to find a way to alleviate this revenue concern.

I work downtown and walk everyday at lunch, so I am pretty well- versed with eateries, etc.

1) Merwin's Wharf - Columbus Ave, sort of in the flats. My fav place in Cleveland on a warm, sunny day. Great bar with tv's (They host watch parties and give 20% off for wearing Cavs gear); outside tables right on the river. Corn hole, fire pit, and good food (though basic).

2) RED steakhouse- pricey, but excellent and right near E 4th/ the Q. I've seen some players go in there.

3) Sushi 86 and Barrio- both near E 4th/Q on Prospect.

4) heinen's- go here a few times a week. Excellent salad bar, stir fry's, fruits, etc.

5) RESTORE Juice Bar- Huron Rd right past E 9th. This is brand new, but if you like fresh, cold-pressed juices and smoothies, place is great.

6) B Spot- Best burger I've had....in the Horseshoe Casino

Let me know if anyone wants any more specific info. I'd recommend anyone visiting to just walk around and take a stroll down to Voinovich Park/ E 9th St Pier on a sunny day.

Go Cavs!!

That east bank area is going to be so cool. Cannot wait for it to be complete..

Lagos near A loft in the flats is really good. Been there a few years I believe. Drinks are solid, I had a great Manhattan there.

Random questions, has anyone here been to Porcos? It's an awesome tiki bar between ohio city and tremont.

Damn downtown occupancy is killing me. Been on 668 Waitlist since Jan, I'm currently first, and everyone for August renewed. Looks like earliest I get a place is September.

Well, you can't be too upset... You're trying to live in the same building as Kyrie (I think) & Tito. You might have been able to snag Byron Scott's place if you just struck a little earlier. :chuckle:

Have you looked into the Residences at 1717 Superior?

I have actually, problem is (1) 668 is attached to titan's gym which is the only actual gym downtown. 1717 has a fitness room, but it is small. (2) 1717 is literally attached the the building in which I will be working. Being that close to work is too close for me. Just gonna move into my cousin's tremont house until an apt opens up.

Do you work in the Oswald building?

Also @Zen did you move yet? I saw "Zen" tagged on a bridge on the shoreway and it reminded me that you were moving.

Yup that is where I will be working.

Yep moved in to mariners watch its an awesome spot. I think they are sold out on 1 bedrooms though for new construction it almost instantly filled up.

Im something like 44th on the 1717 waitlist but im not sure ill move since i like the current place do much.

Having to pay double parking is annoying though... 250 a month down the drain.
