#127, Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm watching a draft special on ABC right now. There is a bit about the prospective draftees looking to buy a car. I didn't recognize the two players they were following though.

The first went to a BMW dealer looking for that panty dropper. V8, twin tubos, blah, blah, blah.

The second player goes into a Hyundai dealer. He's looking for an affordable SUV for his family. And I stop and go, Pierre Desir has a family. But it didn't really click. Then I see he is wearing an LU shirt with a lion on it. Look it up and sure enough its Lindenwood.

I just thought that was interesting. He's looking for an affordable, reliable car for his family. To me that's a nice surprise. Seems like this kid understands the value of money and has a family oriented attitude. Obviously the other articles about his college history already illustrate this... But I just love high character guys. And I love being constantly reminded of it.

Yeah, he asked about a minivan too.

The biggest adjustment for Desir will be the speed of all the other players. He knows this. “The coaches taught me some techniques that will help.”

There has not been any discussion about Desir moving to safety, a position he’s never played before in his life. He’s not opposed to anything, though.

Desir soaked up the locker room on his first day with the Browns. He took pictures and reflected on his long journey to the NFL, a must-read story we will have tomorrow on ClevelandBrowns.com

Seems to be a really humble guy. Glad he's a part of our team. I just can't believe he was still on the board in the 4th. I wouldn't have been surprised if a team took him late second or third round.

Here's the story that my last link said was coming:

Desir, barely 16-years-old at the time, had his mom drive him around to his job, flipping burgers and manning the drive-thru at*Jack in the Box, and then to see his baby girl. Football practice and homework were sprinkled in from time-to-time.

“While my friends were learning how to party, I was at home learning how to change diapers,” said Desir with a laugh.

Pierre answers questions from some fans.

Summary: Models his game after Richard Sherman, wants to improve his technique (mainly footwork), his family is his biggest motivator, his favorite part of Cleveland is the fans, and his goals are to a) make the team b) get a ton of interceptions and c) make a big impact - whether defensively or on special teams.
