2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can just see us drafting some guy named "LeBryan" :chuckles:

Anthony Davis is the best player in this class that will be coming up, at least in my opinion. That's who I would be targeting. Unbelievable versatility as a 6'10 PF, mainly because he grew from 6'3 to 6'10 in about a years time so he still has the skills of a guard in him while he develops as a big man.

WOW MR DRummond may very well be apart of the 2012 Draft!
He should have actually graduated this year if he had stayed with his class.
http://www.zagsblog.com/ Pray for year long a lockout folks!

Scouts said he would have been the no doubt first pick if he was draft elgible this year.
His ceiling is said to be "higher then Dwight Howard!"

Please get another lotto pick for 12 Grant!

2012 is the reason I'm not crazy about Derrick Williams if it would take extra assets to move up for him. Picks for next year need to be stacked up, and we'll have alot of assets this upcoming season, and we'll need every one of them. I'm VERY high on Irving, but I feel we could definitely get at least 2 players in the draft next year at the same or higher talent level than Irving as long as we're in the lottery.

You are probably right as long as you are not looking for a center--

Something to keep in mind: with the way things are looking right now, we're likely to be very well set-up for this year and next..

Right now it's looking like the Cavs are going to draft a PG and C, which is great since the PG and C class next year is extremely weak (Zeller and Joshua Smith likely top two C's; Kabongo and Teague likely top-2 PGs)...

Whereas Cavs will likely need a wing player and a PF, which is the strength of next year's draft..

Just thought I'd throw that out there...

So now that the draft has come and gone, the Cavs came out with a PG and a PF. Grant said earlier today on WKNR that he'd be targeting a wing player via trade/free agency earlier this offseason.

It seems to me that this still will leave open at least 1 wing position, and I'd like to see the Cavs take someone like Barnes, Miller, Gilchrist, or Rivers. Ideally, if they pick up another pick next year, any combination of these 4 would be incredible.

Hard to say now. I need to see how these guys play in college, first. I only want Rivers if he can play the 2.

If we're getting an sg I want Brad Beal, no question about it.

You shittin' me? This thread again?

Barnes or McAdoo.... UNC has two stud wings next year...

Gilchrist also a name to watch.

I'll make the first prediction....this draft is going to be weak though prolly not as bad as this one as there will be more knowns coming into it. I firmly believe the owners will get the two years after a player's graduating high school class into the CBA and we'll be left with one year wonders along with the draft dodgers from this year. We'll be bad again so I'm hopeful for Harrison Barnes but am afraid the lack of depth in the draft could once again burn us especially since two of the dodgers, three if Henson advances his play are PFs. Here's hoping either the age limit isn't reached or enough freshman step up their play as Sophomores

Not a single minute of the 2011-2012 college basketball season has been played yet. I've heard of premature ejaculation but this is crazy.

Sorry you don't approve Pyro, but the fact remains that there is tons of footage, scouting reports, and other info on these kids, as well as knowledge about the Cavs potential needs.

And this thread might be the largest and longest of the year in Cavs Talk because of the impending lockout, so it seems alright that the discussion gets kicked off a little early!
