Can anyone with out any bias who watched all the game explain how Heat managed to shoot 3 times more free throws, than NYK ?
knicks are a stupid team with no discipline on either side of the court that got frustrated and happened to be playing in miami.

What a shame. Every team has had a significant or team changing injury.. Chicago - Rose, Boston - Allen, Orlando - Howard, Indy - Collison, OKC - Harden, MEM - Randolph etc. etc. Miami - completely healthy.

I feel Miami was just gifted a championship. Way to buy it guys!! I wonder how this affects Rose next year?

It's okay as long as Miami makes up for it next year. I'll take season long injuries to their big three as ample compensation. :chuckles:

Man I can see this Ind Vs. Orl. thing getting ugly...

Big Baby is a semi-dirty player IMO and Orlando has a lot to prove minus Dwight...

Hibbert has a little mean streak in him as well..

I think it will be at least 6 games.. Or it could be over in four, but either way I expect the Magic to fight to the bitter end.

Hard foul from Baby only confirms my suspicions.

yes and that had such a huge impact on the game. definitely the difference-maker. down with the refs!!!!!! they handed the game to miami

lollllllllllll

i don't disagree but they are also old (tho in their defense pop has managed minutes very well) and could have to go through a bad match-up (note: bad match-up != better team) in the grizzlies next round.

they obv can win it all but still, this made miami the clear cut favorites and now they probably won't have a real tough series until the finals.

I agree about Miami - I can only see them losing in the finals now. Still, the Spurs have been amazing the past few months and they haven't even been playing their stars all that many minutes. If Duncan and Manu can handle the uptick in minutes without it effecting their game too much (which is obviously not for certain), then I can definitely see them beating the Heat.

As for the Grizzlies, I don't see the same problems as last year. First off, Randolph has not been his same dominate self that he was last year. Not to mention that the Spurs didn't have a healthy Manu last year, and now they have a much improved Tiago Splitter to throw at the Memphis bigs. I do think the Grizzlies can give the Spurs some trouble, but I don't a Spurs-Grizzlies series turning out like last year.

This Pacers-Magic game is a snooze fest, for a playoff game. Maybe it was all the chippy action from the Heat-Knicks, and the high-effort D from the Bulls and 6ers, but this game reminds me of any old regular season game.

Or maybe both the Pacers and Magic suck, and everyone knows they have no shot in the next round?

Maybe, I just don't see much effort from either side really. Teams can still scrap and claw their way through a game, I don't see it in this game from either team.

And the Pacers were one of the hottest teams in the league to end the year. Perhaps they just had an easy schedule and teams were tanking though.

Pacers still win this series.

Always can count on our resident hipster sticking up for the unpopular alternative.
it's not my fault the popular opinion is often wrong. nor is it my fault some still can't seem to move on wrt lebron and the heat.

tho i do admit the hipster accusation is the first time i've felt legitimately insulted on this site.

yeah, i don't think memphis will win. but if they beat lac, they should put up a tough fight which means an extended series is likely. every unnecessary close game for san antonio just means more minutes for their best players and a greater chance of fatigue which of course doesn't help them vs. miami.

so yeah my main point was that they'll have a significantly tougher road than miami and that combined with the age of their players (albeit relatively rested players) crushes their chances.

though in all honesty i'd kind of like to see them win. i really hate how a lot of coaches handled minutes this season but pop was one of the few who actually adjusted. it'd be nice to see smart coaching pay off.

playoff games without any star power tend to be pretty boring.

kinda hilarious that orlando actually managed to win. it'd be awesome if they advanced as far without dwight as they likely would have with him.

I'm surprised people assume Miami is the favorite now. Obviously the injury to Rose helps Miami. But Boston, OKC, and the Spurs are all better overall teams. Miami has their big 3 - but so does each of those other teams, along with a better supporting cast around them, and better coaching. Besides that, the Spurs and OKC would also both have home court advantage over Miami.

Seriously, wasn't anyone watching the last two times Boston and Miami played (before the last game when both teams rested their stars)? Miami was at full strength and Ray Allen barely contributed. Boston beat them in Miami and then destroyed them in Boston.

Sure, health is a concern for Boston and the Spurs, and even OKC now with Harden. But assuming they are at top strength, I'd pick any of those teams over the Cheat. Forget the Pacers, though. That game tonight clearly exposed them.
