2012 NFL Draft Day 2 Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wouldn't be shocked if Indy passed on a receiver to reunite Luck and Fleener.

Okay: Stephen Hill or bust

I am only exaggerating slightly when I say I can throw a football better than that QB.

No excuse not to take OL then WR .

I still can't believe the weeden pick. I hate it and him. We have so many other holes to fill now. He will be under so much pressure from the fans. One or two bad games early on and fans will boo him and h&h out of town I think.

Prove me wrong Brandon.

I'm thinking the right tackle is next.

I don't think it would be surprising. Especially since some analysts have said that Weeden is not great when pressured, though it's a small sample size given the clean pockets he had been working with. Plus it's a boost for Richardson, it will be his team now, and RT is a need. I'm not sure that it's as big of a need now that we have Richardson and Weeden though. Having Richardson means the defense will have to respect the run and wont be able to attack the Quarterback without pause like last year. I think a deep-threat WR helps just as much in thinning out the defense as a powerful blocker. Value of the pick is obviously in play and we don't know how the board looks, but I think I'd rather have the best receiver and take a tackle later, if it's not a huge disparity in talent. I'm not convinced we still have a chance at a quality #1 later on. Guys like Broyles may be there, with McCoy I think he would have had as much impact, with Weeden I'd prefer we try to stretch the field more.

I expect the #37 pick to be a WR, not a OT... I think the Browns really want to get what they consider a top-tier WR and waiting until their 3rd round pick would likely mean missing out... Meanwhile, I think the depth in the OT class right now means they can afford to pass on one with #37 and still likely get a good one in the 3rd, or even via a trade-up...

It looks like it'll either be Randle or Hill but right now Hill looks like the favorite... I'm a bit worried considering how raw he is, as I do like Randle a lot, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it...

I agree, if they really want a OT as well. Then just trade up and address both. These are obviously the two last GLARING holes offensively. It wouldn't make sense at this point to just put one foot in the water.

I expect the Browns to snag another second rounder.

Too bad we wont get to see more of this today:

This is off topic, but I seriously can't get over how much Tom Heckert looks like a used car salesman

The second round has been a pretty good round for Heckert. Sheard, Little, and Ward were great picks. I'm almost more excited tonight than I was last night. I knew we would in all likelihood grab Richardson and I thought Weeden would be the pick at 37. However, since we already took Weeden I have no idea who we will take tonight.

Second round targets I'm down with:

Cordy Glenn
Courtney Upshaw
Coby Fleener
Jonathan Martin
Lavonte David
Rueben Randle
Bobby Massie
Amini Silatolu

Looks like Brian Quick will be going to the Rams at the top of round 2 and Courtney Upshaw (the absolute last team I wanted him to go to) will go to the Ravens... Rumor is Broncos are looking at Lamar Miller too...

Browns will likely have their choice of a OT or a WR and I still have to think it'll be Randle or Hill...

I can't decide what I want more, WR or RT. If we grab one I'd be thrilled, if we find a way to trade back into the 2nd I'd do a back flip. I think Hill and Massie are my two top targets. I'd be almost as happy with Randle and Glenn as well. Honestly don't know enough about Quick to make a judgment. I didn't see many Appalachian State games.

Your list is much larger than mine.
In order of preference:

Randle
Hill
Glenn
Massie

If we get a WR, then we should trade back up into the second to get one of the o-linemen on the board. I'd prefer either Massie or Brandon Brooks.
