2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From the Philly sports radio station-

97.5 FM The Fanatic Philadelphia
‎#Eagles fans!!! The Rumor is out there that the #Eagles could be looking at trading up for RG3. 2 first round picks and Desean for the #2 overall pick. Thoughts?

Good...hopefully somebody jumps us so we don't make the tragic mistake of mortgaging our future for a QB that will have zero chance of success in the offensive we system and the coach we have. This is not to say I don't think RGIII will be good. This is to say I have zero faith in Shurmur being able to make a playbook for his skill set.

He is like fitting a square peg in a triangle hole for us...it would be a disaster.

Honestly that'd be a stupid trade for the Eagles considering it doesn't make them any better for right now. For the future it does because Vick is old but they're paying a lot of players a lot of money. Without looking at the numbers I assume the cap is gonna come down on them hard soon, similar to the Steelers, and they'll have to make a ton of cuts. I could be wrong of course but their window to win with their current roster is limited.

Eagles have lots of holes that need filled (namely linebacker) that can make them a Top 5 team in the league and a move like this doesn't make a whole lot of sense when they just paid Mike Vick $100 million

Hopefully we're looking at Mike Adams with our 3rd round pick. 5.38 40 and only 19 bench reps is a little bit alarming. Makes me wonder if he can compete with guys like Pierre Paul, Tuck or hell even Sheard.

If we draft RGIII we will most likely change our offensive playbook to fit his abilities. And Shurmur isnt the Offensive Coordinator anymore, Childress is.

Vince Young blows, if I'm Philly, I'd look at RGIII long and hard because of the vast uncertainty and large contract revolving around Vick.

You sound like you listen to Chuck Booms. He says those exact words every time he goes on some blowhard rant about the Browns.

If Shurmur is that incompetent, then no one is going to be successful in our system. Why should our players even suit up on Sundays? That line of thinking is defeatist and illogical.

Criticize Shurmur all you want, but be realistic. We have one year to evaluate him as a head coach and play caller. The team is made up mostly of players left over from another coach's system. Give the guy a chance. And to hope another team leapfrogs us to take a franchise QB just because of our coach (who would be fired in two years if he is as incompetent as you say) does not make sense.

If no one saw John Clayton's tweet earlier (can't post it now), he says the Washington Redskins and the Browns are the favorites to land the No.2 pick, best bid wins.

EDIT here -

Best bet is the Rams trade No. 2 pick to either Cleveland or Washington. Best bid wins.

I think everyone on this board could have guessed that about a month ago. Still, it's good to have confirmation of that fact.
