2012 NFL Free Agency Thread

It has to be Coples/Richardson/Claiborne for me right now.

I know how we need to upgrade the offense terribly bad but I really believe we're committed to making this team into an extremely elite defensive team like the Niners. Coples is the top choice because adding that pass rush ability would give us one of the best young core D-Line's in the NFL. Only second to maybe the Lions in terms of how young and promising it looks for our D-Line.

In the second round I really want to draft Zach Brown, but thats partly beacause I want Coples, if we trade down and grab another second we could get Brown and get a OT, or OG to fill that right side, and then leaving us with #22 where I would want to go WR or RB depending on if Hillis is back or not next year. Would be an all around perfect draft imo and would really put us a step ahead of the game getting 4 really good players this draft.

Levi Brown will be released by Arizona. He played RT most of his career, LT last year. He has only missed 2 games since 2007, always playing at a high level.

I'd be up for giving him a shot. As long as we draft insurance in one of the later rounds. If he pans out then that leaves us with other options at 22, etc.

My preferences on some realistic targets

Free Agency:
QB: 1. Flynn 2. Leinart 3. Campbell
OT: Eric Winston or Levi Brown
WR: 1. Garcon 2. Meachem
RB: 1. Hillis 2. Tolbert 3. Green-Ellis

Plus the draft to add another WR (22) and a guard (3rd/4th round).

Defense..

Need to sign an OLB or DE.

Add Claiborne (4). OLB or a DE in the second.


Maybe I'm being over optimistic on what we could do, but getting some of those guys would make me happy.

that Pashos foot scar is nothing. You should the wheel marks on his back after Colt supporters continually threw him under the bus last season

I think those are actually cleat marks from getting trampled by every average+ DE he faced.

Yeah, hopefully we make no attempts to get a better QB. Personally I like going into the season with a guy that we know can't stretch the field and holds on to the ball too long.
