2013 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our old friend Matt LaPorta made his season debut with the Clippers tonight,
and went 3-4 with a HR.

Other than Adam Miller, LaPorta is the ultimate cautionary tale when it comes to prospects. He completely tears apart minor league pitching and always has. In the big leagues he looks completely lost.

Just hasn't been the same since he hurt his hip in his first bigleague callup. Had surgery again this offseason on the hip, who knows? Not holding my breath, though. If the Tribe keeps hitting and stays healthy I don't see him getting another shot.

Laporta1 was my password for a good year and a half......my hopes are long gone.

LaPorta went yard again. This is his year...

Francisco Lindor with a 4-for-6 effort, including a triple. He's up to .365 showing great patience, bat to ball ability and flashing some extra-base power. I said a few weeks ago that he would have to absolutely dominate the Carolina League to get a promotion, and he's doing just that. Might be the best player in that league and showing franchise player ability.

Lastoria hearing some rumblings:

Dunno what to make of this but hearing unconfirmed rumblings Bauer may be on his way back to CLE. Doesnt make sense unless a DL situation.

Indians cant recall Bauer unless someone heading to DL b/c of 10 day rule. Puzzling...just forwarding that along.

Want to make it clear that I havent heard any official move of Bauer going to CLE. Just heard may be in works. Prob no confirmation til Mon.

Pestano is fine and supposedly avail for next game. If he had gone to DL then Hagadone would have been recalled.

My only guess about a possible Bauer move in works is maybe something cropped up with Ubaldo.

Tony Lastoria ‏@TonyIBI
Heard RHP Brett Brach could be on move to Columbus which would add more fuel to fire for potential move of pitcher from CBus to CLE (Bauer).

@adam_c_wheeler if bauer is coming up on Monday as I noted earlier today, it would seem to imply an injury to the rotation. we'll see.

Tony Lastoria ‏@TonyIBI
@MrTribeTime who knows. heard it from a reliable person, but it's so strange of a move, I still wonder on the accuracy of it

In other news:

Other player movement news....Jose Ramirez to DL in Akron (hip flexor) & Justin Toole (@Tooleyj24) moved up from Carolina to replace him.

If Bauer's coming back up already, there must be another injury to a member of our starting rotation. Now to figure out who.

Bauer is just being held so he is ready for the double-header on the 13th.

Score. Even more incentive to go to both games.

What's a good site that updates prospects game to game and possible call ups? I can't find a good one and could really use it for fantasy purposes. I need to be on top of my game when it's time for STL OF Oscar Taveras comes up.

minorleagueball.com is okay, for fantasy baseball purposes I just use the newswire on Rotoworld.

Baseball America has prospect updates as well.

Columbus update:

Trevor Bauer: 6.2 IP, 0H, 2ER, 4BB, 7K, 4HBP :)chuckles:), 1WP, 106p-60s

Preston Guilmet came on with two outs in the seventh and gave up the hit to break up the no-hitter, and tie the game at two.

Michael Bourn is 1-for-2 with a BB and a SB in his first rehab game.

Whoa, is the 4HBP really true? If that's the case I don't see how he wasn't ejected.
