2013 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That depends on health. Salazar remains a starter as long as he stays on the mound.

Also Bauer was just wild, you don't eject a pitcher for that. Carrasco now... He would have been tossed. Bauer doesn't have that track record.

And that performance? Have to be worried about that control now. He is putting up using AJ Burnett lines. Maybe the Tribe should just say f it and let him set his own pitch counts, see what he does.

Thanks to the @AkronAeros for everything, for now on, I'm a Columbus clipper!!

The 23 year old's line for Akron:

7 GS; 2-3; 2.67 ERA; 33 2/3 IP; 27 H; 10 BB; 51 K

According to Chris Antonetti, he was topping out at 99 in Akron.

So...yeah. If he can keep making the progress, that'd be awesome.

Michael Bourn went 0-for-4 with a K in his second rehab game with Columbus.

Dorssys Paulino with another 0-for-3, down to .206 so far this season and easily the most disappointing prospect showing thus far. Just a .010 ISO and a line drive rate of just 10 percent (down from 16 percent career). The BABIP of just .267 and his strikeout/walk ratio staying somewhat consistent is a sign of hope, but I really expected a Lindor like breakout from him this season.

Congrats to Salazar. I think he's got a good deal of potential.

From this weeks BA Prospect HotSheet

Chris McGuiness, 1b, Rangers: McGuinness spent his spring training trying to make the Indians as a Rule 5 pick. He fell short and was sent back to Texas, but the 25-year-old didn’t grow sullen in disappointment. Instead he’s kept doing what he always does, draw walks, hit for average and some power. McGuiness hit .417/.563/.625 with four extra-base hits, seven walks and seven runs scored this week for Triple-A Round Rock.

Eh, overrated*.

*This way, just in case in 3 years he doesn't end up as good, I can remind everyone that I said he was overrated first.

This is the most Cleveland Indians fan post ever.

Gotta show my civic pride. Specifically, show other fans my pride in being right about failure before they were. Go modern sports fandom!

I always joke that Tribe fans are the only ones that race to get OFF the bandwagon.

Jim Bowden was just on Bull & Fox and said he watched a lot of Lindor in the spring & thought "This guy is Barry Larkin."

He went on to say he wouldn't trade Lindor for David Price and didn't hesitate one bit in doing so.

Oh, who is he kidding- of course he would, he is JIM BOWDEN. All he would have to do is get bored on a plane ride, this is the man who carefully crafted the Nationals into a team that was able to pick 1st twice in a row. You don't get there by hanging on to Francisco Lindors. More like he looked at him and said 'I could trade this guy for the modern marginal equivalent of Barry Larkin' and preceded to call Chris Antonetti and recommend him to trade Lindor for Asdrubal Cabrera.

In all seriousness, Lindor has really taken off. Has only two errors on the season, to go with the 2nd highest BA in the Midwest League. Also goes to show how loaded his draft class was that despite being no. 6, you can't really argue with any of the picks ahead of him, AND a SS drafted after him, Javier Baez, is on pace to be a stud himself.

And of course 92.3 is already obsessed with how the Tribe needs to trade for a pitcher immediately and are making lists of who we could get for Lindor.

Gotta talk about somethin'. As long as it isn't the Tribe FO doing it, I'm fine. I think you never say never when it comes to dealing prospects- the club had a can't miss SS prospect here back in the early/mid 00s, can't remember his name- but the Tribe has to be in the right place. And they aren't right now.

The line of succession is set up perfectly. Cabrera is set to make 10 million in 2014. If a team absolutely knocks you over with an amazing offer in the offseason you move him then and either have a stopgap in 2014 or fast track Lindor. If not, you see how 2014 goes. If we're contending, you keep Cabrera for the whole season, let someone sign him after 2014 and get the draft pick compensation that comes with it. If we struggle in 2014, you move him at the deadline. Either way, 2015 Lindor is starting and our SS for at least 7-8 years beyond that.
