Athletic young big.
Has a decent jumper.
Gives us another asset
More flexibility
More talented than what we could get with the 19th pick this year.

Centers: Varejao, Len/Noel, Zeller.

Speights can be pushed out the door, and I'm sure Brown can manage the minutes in a way that would work.

Someone explain to me why I should be excited about potentially acquiring Thomas Robinson.

He's a chance to maximize the value of a pick from a relatively weak draft. He's available on the cheap because he was disappointing in his rookie year playing first for the worst organization in the NBA and second for a team where he was an awful fit (Houston's offense effectively relies on floor spacing from four players and a defensive big in the middle...Robinson isn't a stretch-four and, thus, didn't get a chance). It didn't help that McHale wasn't big on giving rookies minutes.

don't get the robinson thing. do they view him as a long term starter and essentially envision starting two pfs with him and tristan? or do they view him as a backup to replace speights?
