Lloyd has been pretty adamant it won't be Noel and that we won't trade for Robinson. His reputation will either go up a lot after tomorrow or go down quite a bit. Personally, I hope it goes down.

don't get the robinson thing. do they view him as a long term starter (and start two pfs with tristan) or do they view him as a backup (replacing speights)?

If they trade for him, I'd assume they view him as a potentially talented player, and you win games by having talented players. Whether he starts or not is irrelevant. If it becomes an issue later because you have two starting-caliber forwards, that's a great problem to have. You can always trade one of them for a guy who's a better fit.

Yeah, it's called trading Varejao at or before the deadline.

If he stays healthy by the trading deadline this year, we should consider ourselves lucky and find a deal for him.

Was told 2 weeks ago #Cavs weren't interested in T-Rob. From all indications, that hasn't changed. No, I don't count them as basketball skills, I count them under height and athleticism. You can drag a guy out of the Congo who has never seen a basketball and put him on the court and he can block shots. While timing is certainly a factor, it;s not really a learned skill.

Everyone here gets it. You hate, hate, hate you some Noel.

You completely fail to take into account that he is probably the most athletic big man with his length and wingspan, maybe ever. The ACL injury will only make him come back stronger and with improved skills.

He has hand-eye coordination that is at a very high level, as good as a lot of guards in the league. He probably has the quickest hands of any big to ever play in the league. He has a gym-rat mentality, he is unselfish and he only wants to do whatever it takes to win and play at the highest level by his own account.

He's shown excellent passing skills, decent handle while dribbling, and his ability to catch and finish is as good as it gets, period.

Now I have no idea who Grant is going to take, or how this draft will go down. I have absolute faith that Grant will get the best possible result. I'm okay with Len or Noel, or trade-down.

But your bashing of Noel is making you look like someone who doesn't understand basketball. When you find yourself at the bottom of a hole, quit digging.

Hey, at this rate he'll make it to China in no time.

Please watch this tell us who is your best big man Noel or Len

Why? He's honestly the best beat guy the Cavs have right now & it's really not even close.

And to be fair, he's gone from "there's no way the Cavs take Noel" to "I don't think it'll be Noel". He's calmed quite a bit on his proclamation that it won't be Noel.

He's a chance to maximize the value of a pick from a relatively weak draft. He's available on the cheap because he was disappointing in his rookie year playing first for the worst organization in the NBA and second for a team where he was an awful fit (Houston's offense effectively relies on floor spacing from four players and a defensive big in the middle...Robinson isn't a stretch-four and, thus, didn't get a chance). It didn't help that McHale wasn't big on giving rookies minutes.

I probably should have prefaced my comment by saying I was never high on Robinson, even coming out of college. I don't see (assuming Noel or Len is the pick) how he logs any more minutes in Cleveland than he did in Houston or Sacramento. Yes, I know Len and Noel are centers, but there are only so many minutes to go around in the paint and the Cavs need a three and a backup point guard more than they need to trade the #19 for a backup big man who will struggle to play more than 10-15 minutes a game.

If they deal for another athletic defensive minded PF in Robinson I'm guessing Len will be the #1 pick, right?

They could pick the best remaining wing player at #13 assuming they get Dallas' pick.

On another note I really like James Ennis as a darkhorse 2nd rounder. He played last year here at Long Beach State. Has really good size and some skilll too for the SF position. Good shooter and defender. Potential 3 and D guy with some athleticism too. I could see him making the Cavs roster.

re: player comparisons

5. Ben McLemore, Kansas
Comparisons: Daniel Gibson (96.4),

:puke:

Oh it is nothing against him personally. I agree he is the best. I just want Noel and Robinson :chuckles:

I wasn't aware that Thomas Robinson was defensive minded. Sure he has athleticism and length, but he's always been more of a force on offense.

Ok so forget robinson. So who is the next guy that The Bullshit Whisperer is going to invent that we are getting.

Robinson could be insurance for including TT in a deal for _____. Just sayin'.

Edit:

But you don't pass up the opportunity to get a talented big for peanuts.

Boy, Cavs beat writers are all over the place. Guess we'll see who's getting fed bogus info & who isn't.

Robinson would provide additional depth up front. He could start one day, if we were to trade Thompson. It's also likely that trading for him would preclude the Cavaliers from drafting Anthony Bennett.
