2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thank god more people are not impressed with the Royals and Tigers offseasons. I felt like I was taking crazy pills after debating people I know that thought they were all having amazing offseasons and the Tribe wasn't.
Causal fans see names the recognize and then making moves. Just assume they are good.

Not upset by any means with the Tribe's off-season thus far.

Still, though, don't trust this pitching staff outside of Kluber.

I can not remember if it was here or somewhere else. I heard the indians are keeping tabs on Shields hoping his price drops. Doubt that happens but man would it be nice to add someone like him.

James Shields would definitely be nice. With the young, talented core the Tribe has, a pitching staff that featuers Kluber and Shields would be pretty damn good.

Wishful thinking, though. Just isn't a move I can see happening.

Yeah it sucks but If you look at it I mean it almost has to happen as in him or someone needs to step up big time. the rest of the central still has almost except for KC has a good to great one two punch. I still am pissed at the Indians for letting Kaz go last year though. They got off to a good start this year by getting Moss. If they add a top line pitcher they would be back to a true contender. We all know they will play the Lets hope we get lucky act again like they did with Kaz.

They're already a 'true contender'. They finished 4 GB from the World Series Runner-up with a young rotation, slumping hitters and just filled their biggest offseason need.

I'm baffled by some of the unrest in this thread. We literally have one of, if not the, best young rotations in baseball. We need let them blossom. Did people just stop watching during the 2nd half of the season? Pitching was dominant, especially Kluber and Carrasco.

Btw, "let's hope we get lucky" shouldn't be in anyones vocabulary if you've followed this team at all over the past two years. Please familiarize yourself with one Michael Christopher "Mickey" Callaway. No luck involved there.....

In my opinion, the rotation is still kind of shaky.

Kluber is due to regress, even if it is just a little bit. Watching him, he looked legitimate, but you just cannot ask for replication of those numbers again. I still see him as a 15-17 win and 2.80-3.00 ERA guy though.

Carrasco had a great ending to the season, but a lot of that was credited to Kevin Cash, who is now gone, and before that he was all over the place. I think he'll be alright, but he isn't a sure thing.

Salazar, Bauer, and House all could either maintain their course from last season, or implode. I think House is the most likely of the three to "fall apart", but I just hope they can keep it rolling.

Don't have any numbers up right now, but our second half rotation of Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar, Bauer, and House had to be top five or six in the league. It just had to have been.

We need to sign a legit top of rotation guy this winter or you can count on another mediocre season. I'm sick of settling. When will we ever shoot for the stars? Does winning a championship mean anything to this ownership/front office?

Agree with people who are leery of trusting this rotation. I don't think they need to add a front of the rotation guy (tho it would be nice) - just some depth and buy-low type options. I'm sure between Bauer/Carrasco/House/Salazar a few guys will struggle this year. We need to have some options outside of Tomlin / McAllister to replace them.

Third base is a bit scary to me. Are the Rangers rebuilding? Any chance someone like Adrian Beltre shakes lose?

Dude, your posting has been downright atrocious.

You're the guy who said Kevin Love sucked in the game thread/"weren't a fan." Now this? Trolling at about a 10 right now. Take it down a notch.

Kaz as in Kazmir? The guy who fell apart after the All-Star break? I'd say that between our rotation stepping up and Kazmir's collapse, the Indians were justified in letting him walk.

Kluber is probably due to regress a hair and not be the best pitcher in baseball, but I think that will be made up for by a full year of Carrasco and progression from Bauer. As long as we can get 2 guys from Salazar, House, Z-Mac, and a possible FA to step up we should have a top notch rotation again.

REALLY hope Carrasco can keep up his turn around. Losing Cash makes me nervous.

Do you think we can compete for a championship in 2015? No, again, we are going to be mediocre, because we never go that extra mile to push us over the top

I'm sorry, can you explain yourself here? And yes, I did say I wasn't a fan of kevin love being on this team. You put "he sucked" into my own mouth. I don't think it's worth it to be paying him top dollar to camp out at the three point line on offense and to be completely non existent on defense, especially the way the rest of the team is constructed. For the money he's making now and is going to get in the summer we should be getting someone who is way more active on both ends of the floor
