2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Guy had Tommy John and then started out pretty well last year and suffered a broken elbow.

Should be a buy low type deal that could pay off.

Good competition for ST.

I'm fairly certain I brought his name up toward the end of the season.

Low risk, high reward.

$4M+ incentives.

I don't hate this at all. It won't make the average fan happy, but I think it's a decent chance to take. You don't necessarily need a front of the rotation starter, so you can let him figure it out at the bottom of the rotation. I think they call these types of moves "shrewd".

I must say I like the deal though. Low risk, potentially moderate reward.

Awesome. Sox remake their roster, Tigers make some moves, the Royals get the OFer we wanted... And the Tribe signs a guy who broke his elbow throwing an 88 mph fastball. Rack up another one for ShapaDolaGrantFranconetti...

I guess Floyd's rehab has gone well, wonder if he has started throwing. He looked good in his return from TJ before the break. I take it this is their risky veteran starter gamble.

Yes, he's throwing.

Will be healthy for ST.

Consistently amazed at how many people just refuse to acknowledge the Moss trade happened.

Unless the argument is Rios/Morales > Moss? But I'm not sure I understand that any better.

With this signing do you think one of Bauer, Carrasco, or Salazar could be on the move? There were talks about this on some radio show before the signing.

While I agree with you, Like the other poster said the Moss trade is a pretty big deal. However i do think we really needed to add a right handed bat and a left handed starter yet we trade for a lefty bat and sign a RHP I don't get it. I guess you take what you can get, however this team is in a odd place with its roster right now and someone has to go. I suspect a trade or two yet to come.

Antonetti said that Floyd is not the back-end starter... That'll be battled for by the other guys.

Our third or forth I assume. I like the depth but we still lack punch after Kluber.
