2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We probably do need to pick up a bat, but whatever they do as far as acquiring an outfielder and a 3rd basemen if Chisenhall does get traded, they absolutely have to upgrade defensively.

I agree. Adrian Beltre is the pipe dream acquisition for me, but the Rangers haven't indicated they'll trade him. I have read many times that the Indians like Urshela, so I think they'll either stick with Chisenhall or acquire a one year stop gap. There's not much on the free agent front aside from Sandoval and Headley, making a trade more likely.

David Freese is a name to keep an eye on as well as Juan Uribe.

Pretty sure you jinxed Urshela. Tore up his knee in a game last night. He was hitting .398 before the injury.

Damn.

"Estamos bastante preocupados. No creo que pueda jugar.Está bastante mal"

It's been a few years, but I think this says they're very concerned and it sounds pretty bad.

Who exactly would we play at 3rd everyday?
I think Chis probably maxed out his potential this year and his trade value is peaking.

That said, they'd need to replace him via FA, but I'm not sure why they'd see a pressing need to do this when he makes $542k...

I just can't get on board with the thought that Chisenhall is maxed out at 25.

He's now 26 and hit .218 in the second half.

His 2014 stat line is friendly and teams may be willing to take a chance in hopes of landing first-half Lonnie.

He may not be maxed out, but the first sign of production out of him was short-lived.

Yeah Urshela is going to have an MRI. Season is probably done, his contract was only through Dec 1st anyway. We will probably know in a couple weeks at the latest . He initially stayed in the game after the injury, so I can't imagine it was a complete tear.

Happens all the time. What about the guy he would be replacing in Boston? Will Middlebrooks? Both Ben Broussard and Casey Blake come to mind- athletic players who were mediocre to bad defensively despite the tools to be far better. Ben had a pretty swing like Chisenhall's- and the same issues. Couldn't hit lefties, didn't like to work the count. I think his bat could eventually even out but this team's defense was its' biggest issue last year and Lonnie was front and center in that regard. Team has to explore its optins at 3B.

Toronto continues to prove that its front office is an absolute goat rodeo.

Comical.

Edit: LOL

The trade (by the way):
Indians send out: Esmil Rogers (currently in the Yankee bullpen)
Indians receive: Yan Gomes, Mike Aviles
