2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Young Davis man. I'd say he and Steph Curry have been the best players in the NBA through the first week and a half.

And the reason why I think Davis vs. Cousins won't be close by the end of the year is because of what he's doing on defense. Again tonight with 6 blocks and 4 steals. Cousins can't do those things on that end.

I just don't get this cousins is anchoring a top 10 defense so far with no defensive weapons. He has gotten better at defense and now he is a plus defender even though he wasn't a negative last year. Davis is a better rim protector but DMC is a better man to man.

Demarcus has to be top 3 best players too so far team is 5-1 averaging 24-11.8-1-1 on 29 minuets.

to be fair though, Davis's numbers are even more freaky, averaging 24 points on 50 % shooting and 82 from the line, 12 rebounds, 2.2 steals (!) and 4.4 Blocks (!!!!!!!). I agree that Boogie seems poised to stake his claim for best center in the NBA this year, but Davis looks like he wants to not only cement himself as the best PF but also the far and away best defensive player in the league and a bonafide MVP candidate.

Good game on NBATV tonight....Spurs/Clippers.

Wayne Ellington's dad shot to death

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington has been granted an indefinite absence from the team after his father was shot and killed Sunday night in Philadelphia, the team said Tuesday before their game against the Grizzlies.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Ellington's father, who shares the same name, was found shot to death inside his car at an intersection. Police on Tuesday told the newspaper they have no motive or suspects.

"My family and I are devastated by the news of my father's murder on Sunday night in Philadelphia," Ellington said in a statement released by the team. "We appreciate everyone's support and ask that you respect the privacy of our family during this very difficult time."

The Lakers stated that it was unknown at this time when Ellington, who is from Wynnewood, near Philadelphia, would rejoin the team.

"Our players are upset for their friend and teammate," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said in the release. "Additionally, ownership and all Lakers employees are also saddened by this tragedy.

"Those of us who work with and have gotten to know Wayne have come to know what a wonderful and caring person he is. Our hearts go out to Wayne and his family, as do our thoughts and prayers."

Ellington, in his sixth NBA season, has played in five games this season, averaging 7.8 points off the bench.

Very sad about Wayne Ellington. Dirk and Kobe making headlines for opposite reasons. Spurs show why they are champs with a win at Oracle arena. Steph Curry's 3 point consecutive makes ends.

Well, for those who think Dion has a bad PR team (he does), at least we've still got Derrick Rose around to remind us that some people are even dumber:

Rose: "I know a lot of people get mad when they see me sit out or whatever, but I think a lot of people don't understand that ..."
Nick Friedell (@NickFriedell) November 11, 2014

Rose: "When I sit out it's not because of this year. I'm thinking about long term. I'm thinking about after I'm done with basketball."
Nick Friedell (@NickFriedell) November 11, 2014

Rose: "Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don't want to be in my meetings all sore."

November 11, 2014

Rose: "Or be at my son's graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. (I'm) just learning and being smart."

This guy really just can't stay out of his own way. Either say nothing or say you're looking toward the playoffs, not the regular season. But do not under any circumstances say that you didn't play because you don't want to be hypothetically sore one day during your son's hypothetical graduation or during a meeting.

It's fine that he's thinking about and concerned about his future health, but saying that when there are other players on his own team playing through injuries is idiotic.

Hey D-Rose, you make about 50 million a year (including endorsements) to put your body at risk! Most "somethings" people do in the past don't make them that much money. Thats your JOB.

If I'm the Bulls, I would consider trading Derrick Rose. Not sure who would be interested though.

I usually tune Avery Johnson out because of that fucking voice, but damn this guy makes some ridiculous comments. He took Miami over Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals, with "Wade cancelling LeBron out" and Bosh/Deng being better than Love/Kyrie. So wrong on so many accounts Avery.

Anyone else entertained by the Optimus Cope show so far? Hey, we have this guy who put the ball in the basket for about four weeks on a bad Knicks team... Let's just let him shoot it every time Why not? Even CJ Miles has to be thinking, "Damn, that's a lot of jumpers!"

1st time watching that joke pre game dude also had blazers/mavs in his top 4.
And jalen rose is the worst.

Kobe shoots every time he touches it and I'm not exaggerating

Portland blowing out nuggets at half 84-50

Minny is my favorite team to watch besides the Cavs. Easily the most athletic team in the league. They're gonna be scary very soon.
