2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
After listening to the horrid Atlanta announcers the other day, I'm loving listening to them squirm as Portland just went on a mega run and Lilliard hit a clutch 3 to end the 3rd quarter.

Is it too soon to say that Detroit is much, much better without Josh Smith?

4 wins in a row (to include 3 on the road), and all of them by double digits. Have scored over 100 in 3 of them and scored 97 in the game that they didn't.

Granted the competition hasn't been great (Pacers, Magic, Knicks, and a struggling Cavs team), but that's still damned impressive for a team that started the season by dropping 23 of their first 28 games.

Lillard might be the most cold blooded player in the league right now. The guy just seems to drill big shot after big shot and he keeps getting better.

It's kind of sad he is stuck up in the Pacific northwest because he should be a way bigger star than he is.

He was 8th I think it was in the recent western conference All-star balloting. It is a complete joke.

Looks like the Heat plucked themselves a decent rim protector off the d-league in Whiteside.

Meanwhile....Alex Kirk.

We haven't really played Kirk, so you can't really judge him yet.

The Pistons are looking like they are going to win again tonight over the Kings. They are also screwing themselves because they needed to tank for a pick this season. Monroe is gone, and they need to add a top 5 talent to that team. If they settle into a say .400 winning % going forward once they come back down to earth that will likely push them toward the back of the top 10 by seasons end.

Amazing what a difference after cutting Smith though.

Jennings has 32 tonight so far and has been a completely different player post Smith. He's averaged over 21 a game on well over .500 from the floor.

He's actually not a bad player when he's not being a dumbass. Maybe Stan Van is finally getting through to him.

Doesn't the fact that he can't crack the rotation when we desperately need size say enough ?

We have Varejao (hurt), TT and Haywood who all have proven they can protect the rim.

I know they haven't played anybody, but still. It's amazing that a team as bad as the Pistons could waive a player and then literally play like the best team in the league. In their 5 game win streak, their ORtg is 114 and their DRtg is 93. That's a NET +21 which is just ridiculous.

I wouldn't say he's gone I think he stated he wanted to stay there but not with smith there.

The Hawks just killed the Blazers start to finish and now are rolling the Clippers. 9th in offense and 7th in defense. They look like they enjoy playing with each othe and of course winning.

The Warriors...what can you say? They killed OKC using just two "bigs" in Spreights and Lee and they only played a total of 25 minutes. There's so much to be said about length and athleticism and perimeter defense. They locked down Durant and Westbrook, rebounded decently well even though terribly outsized, and got open shots for days. Draymond Green just continues to destroy defensively and annoy the hell out of opponents offensively since he has improved on that end.

They've really taking the Spurs model: all their players have range and since they are willing passers they are able to find the open shooters. Throw in both Millsap and Horford can post up and they are tough to defend. Man wish we had a guy like Carroll to pair with Lebron and Irving on the perimeter

Hawks roll the Blazers and Clips on the road.

Bulls beat Houston.

Wizards beat New Orleans on the road.

We lose to the Sixers. FML.
