2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Speaking of the Hawks anyone else see that Simmons tweet about part of their ownership having proposals to move the team to Seattle?

On my phone so can't post tweet atm

Slow ball day but both games turned out to be good. And Ole Miss really pushed Kentucky.

The end of the Spurs Pistons game was laughably bad. Horrible coaching by Pop, horrible execution by the Spurs.

That horribly bad Pistons team that we lost to just won again in San Antonio. And yeah, there were some bad moments to finish it. I'm not a fan of fouling up 3 (at least not with 10 seconds left), and the Spurs did, which a 1 point lead with possession shouldn't be a problem, but they lost the ball on the inbounds and the Pistons ran down the court and made an easy shot. Laughable finish.

Someone break up the Pistons.

Their season is shot from that really bad start, but they definitely seem to have turned a corner with Stan Van since cutting Smith.

They were down 54-36 with 3 minutes left in the 2nd on the road to SA. In the past that is a game they lose by 30, much less fight back and win.

Long term they probably need another high pick at least and should have followed through with the tank, but I guess there is something to at some point having to turn your culture around otherwise the picks don't matter.

Drummond is a total animal at this point. Cutting Smith might have saved his career.

I need to amend my post about the Pistons season being shot.

With the bottom of the east being abysmal, they are now only 3.5 out of the 8th seed after this 6 game win streak. That is completely absurd.

Jodie Meeks might actually be the secret weapon for them. He missed the first 22 of the season, but they are now 8-4 since he came back from injury. He's averaging 14 points a game with a PER of 19.3. His 3 point shooting has helped with the spacing that has allowed Drummond to be a monster the last month.

If this isn't a mirage and the Pistons settle in to being a .500 team the rest of the way (they won't sustain this level of winning) they likely can sneak in as a 7-8 seed and would probably be a team the Bulls/Raps would prefer not to see in the opening round.

I've been saying for years that the Hawks were the best candidate for relocation. Regardless of how good their team is, their fan base just doesn't care. They're at the bottom of the league in attendance every year despite rarely missing the playoffs. Atlanta just doesn't seem to care about basketball, so why not move to a city that does?

Most cities see suffering attendance when the team is bad and solid attendance when the team is good. Cleveland is like that (Charlotte too), as are most other small and mid-market teams. Atlanta is a huge market and has had a consistently good team for the last decade and attendance still sucks. Just fucking move them to Seattle already.

Yeah, the Hawks are becoming too good of a team. That doesn't jive well with the East. Send them out West.

Reggie Jackson is playing like he wants Waiters to take his job.

Someone break up the Pistons.

They have been whooping Dallas tonight in Dallas.

Back to Back nights road wins in SA and Dallas. That's pretty freaking impressive.

Stan is a hell of a basketball coach.

Why do you keep saying this?

Well, Dion's first shot was a bad 20 footer. Who's surprised? At least he didn't fade horribly.
