2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone knows the best player in the NBA doesn't always get the MVP. I am not denying a big reason for Drose's MVP is the team's success that year. Coaching was a big part of that but to dismiss so easily the notion that he was at the least MVP worthy that year is ridiculous.

That being said the last part of your post is the biggest nut grabbing I have seen in a while.

Tell that to Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

I thought Derrick deserved the MVP that season, by the way. The Miami Heat were 47-35 prior to LeBron and 58-24 during LeBron's first season. Chicago were 41-41 prior to Derrick's MVP season and 62-20 during Derrick's MVP season.

If LeBron can win two MVPs for leading Cleveland to 66-16 and 61-21 records, then Derrick certainly should've and did.

Obviously I am big Bulls homer but I love the NBA. Everytime I think football or baseball are my favorite sport the NBA starts and it brings me back. A lot probably has to do that I won the fan lottery and got enjoy all of Jordan's career as a kid before I became an educated sports fan. Now I worry about salary caps and bullshit like that. Sucks but such is sports.

Wow, Derrick Rose Rule bigger curse than Madden jinx.

Derrick Rose = modern day Bernard King. We'll just have to wonder what night have been.

And what if this actually makes the Bulls better now that they don't over rely on Rose anymore?

Why didn't he deserve it? Best player on the best team when his supporting cast paled in comparison to the Heat that year. Who else deserved it?

You going to tell me if Harden or Curry win it this year they won't deserve it?
I fully believe Howard should have won in 2011, failing that it should have been LeBron. Rose had a good year no doubt, but D12 was on another level.

And if it makes anyone feel better, Kobe didn't deserve his MVP either, Chris Paul was completely robbed. 1 less win, 2oth a far worse team, in the toughest Western conference in recent times, and he did it all with amazing stats. Much bigger screw job than Rose winning.

LeBron deserved the MVP that year and we all know the only reason he didn't win it was because the voters were punishing him for leaving Cleveland (particularly in the way he did) and signing up to play with two other stars. I was fine with at the time because fuck LeBron, but even when it happened I realized that he was being punished despite being the most deserving candidate.

Yep, that year Howard should have won it.

That said the media narrative dominates the MVP race. For example, this year Harden could vault his team into the 2nd seed, but Curry has already been anointed.

Also am hoping Rose makes it back in time for the playoffs.

I feel bad for Rose. Hopefully he has saved up money or has some sort of backup career. I don't know if he can coach. He doesn't have a TV personality. I think he should get a degree or something. The guy is only 26. He can do anything at this moment. As much as I've enjoyed and hated watching him play basketball, if he doesn't want to screw up his future, he'll give up competitive basketball. Sure his style of play would make him more likely to get injured, but most of his injuries have been freak accidents (and his coach's fault). Hopefully Adidas will have a place for him. Side note, I'm not sure about this new 'Boost' technology, but Adidas basketball shoes have had some of the worst cushioning I've ever played in.

You know what really grinds my gears. People who disagree with your post, but offer no response to it.

Pek's got a black eye too. Garnett already making his presence felt.

No one, in anyway, would seriously think Derrick Rose, makes a team around him better even comparable to LB.

I actually think Rose makes his teammates worse. The Bulls aren't better without Rose, but it's not as big of a drop off as you'd imagine.

I honestly think Rose is arguably the worst player to have ever won the award. I might be sounding like a Bulls hater, but I am just being real.

I've said numerous times, the Bulls are our biggest threat in the East. Obviously with Rose going out that changes things, but I am not quite sure I'm ready to write them off honestly.

I don't think Derrick resembled the player he was. The player he was, to me, was really good, on his way to superstar status. But he was never a superstar to me.

So, I really don't know how big of a loss he really is. He's not been their best player this year. Not even their second best player. It hurts the Bulls, but I don't think they are suddenly done because he's out.

Washington is in a tailspin. Our win isn't as big as it felt last week.
