2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've watched this Wiz/Wolves game from the tip and you can just feel the energy that KG brought to the team and that city.

The Wizards better look out for the Bucks.

I feel bad for Rose. Hopefully he has saved up money or has some sort of backup career. I don't know if he can coach. He doesn't have a TV personality. I think he should get a degree or something. The guy is only 26. He can do anything at this moment. As much as I've enjoyed and hated watching him play basketball, if he doesn't want to screw up his future, he'll give up competitive basketball. Sure his style of play would make him more likely to get injured, but most of his injuries have been freak accidents (and his coach's fault). Hopefully Adidas will have a place for him. Side note, I'm not sure about this new 'Boost' technology, but Adidas basketball shoes have had some of the worst cushioning I've ever played in.
How would playing more screw up his future? Let me rephrase: How does this injury, which is fairly common, mean Rose's future is now gone? He was playing quite a bit this season. He absolutely was not an all-star, but he was playing a lot of ball. The guy won't be a starter for much longer but the dude can have a solid career as a backup//role player.

They are falling apart without Beal's movement and shooting on offense.

Reminds me of the times folks here kept insisting that Waiters was "just as good" or "better" than Beal.

Good times.

Also Wittman won't last long under Ted Leonis.

Good for the Wolves.

Wiz are in a nose-dive.

The video package the TWolves put together was far better than the intro for LeBron's first game back.

Crowd noise in the scrimmage game LeBron returned is still the loudest I've ever seen. It was fucking ridiculous when they announced his name. You couldn't hear Ahmad speaking on the mic.

It isn't just Beal's absence for the Wiz, as they had already lost five in a row prior to his stress reaction. Scoring just 77 points against the worst defensive team in the league, you can't blame that on one guy not playing.

Though I must say I really like what the Wolves are doing. Imagine them getting someone like Towns or even Cauley-Stein in the draft as well.

Lots of guys play a lot of ball. The problem is the injury seemingly coming out of nowhere. And the consistency of injuries over the past few seasons. His style of play, regardless of minutes, is going make him more prone to injuries. And I haven't seen him attempt to change it in any way to compensate for it. He plays at 100 all the time, and unfortunately, even with his history of random injuries, puts him at the risk to have a physical career ending and life altering injury.

Think about the pressure he puts on his knees every time he goes for a dunk. The man can straight up fly. Imagine doing that constantly and how it will affect him for the future. Any injury where you need a surgery, regardless of how common it is, can have a negative impact on your longevity. And the fact that 90% of these injuries are on his right knee means it's likely to happen again. Also the mental stress, and depression you go through after constantly getting injured is awful.

Anyway, it was just my suggestion because in the end this is just basketball. Living a long, healthy life and being able to enjoy my later years is pretty important to me. He's just going to have to decide whether it's worth it.

No one, in anyway, would seriously think Derrick Rose, makes a team around him better even comparable to LB.

I actually think Rose makes his teammates worse. The Bulls aren't better without Rose, but it's not as big of a drop off as you'd imagine.

I honestly think Rose is arguably the worst player to have ever won the award. I might be sounding like a Bulls hater, but I am just being real.

I've said numerous times, the Bulls are our biggest threat in the East. Obviously with Rose going out that changes things, but I am not quite sure I'm ready to write them off honestly.

I don't think Derrick resembled the player he was. The player he was, to me, was really good, on his way to superstar status. But he was never a superstar to me.

So, I really don't know how big of a loss he really is. He's not been their best player this year. Not even their second best player. It hurts the Bulls, but I don't think they are suddenly done because he's out.

And let me guess you would say Kyrie has reached superstar status. I would argue Kyrie has done less to this point than Derrick had done by the end of 2011. If you saw the Bulls yesterday you would realize how much of a difference he makes. They basically reverted back to no offense Bulls. See the thing that you guys knock Derrick for this season was what made me excited about the Bulls chances this year. He was playing like crap and they were still winning. His stats were shitty overall but other players were enjoying more space to work with. You think anyone is worried about Brooks and Hinrich? They may be good in short sports but thats it. And in the games against playoff teams he showed up with the exception on the 2nd game against the Cavs in which none of the Bulls showed up. What happened when Lebron was playing like crap this year? Granted they had other issues with the supporting cast past Love and Kyrie but if Lebron doesn't play his A game they weren't winning much.

Big game between OKC-Phoenix right now. Kanter having a huge game.

Westbrook had 39 points ... on 38 shots. Not to mention 16 free throws. Add in the shot attempts that led to free throws (that don't count as shots), and Westbrook must've taken 46+ shots. He had the chance to tie the game in overtime when his man flopped, but, instead of going for the easy layup, he goes for the harder-to-make reverse layup. I think he was expecting someone to contest him. That, or he didn't realize he was open until he was past the rim.

The replay shows him stepping on Morris foot and his lower leg also had contact which should have been a foul.

Chuck on analytics
"It's just a name given out. Like calling a black man a cook and a white man a chef" haha funniest thing I've heard in days.
