2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Assuming that Manziel does well enough in the next three games to demonstrate that he is the undisputed 2015 starter, I believe that Connor Shaw can be an excellent backup to run Shannahan's offense.

I disagree that Shaw has "average at best physical abilities". His measureables at the combine were similar to Manziels. Four year starter under Spurrier. His father is a winning high school football coach.

Since Shaw has been on the practice squad this year, I assume that he knows Shannahan's terminology, and that will give him a leg up next year.

The best reason to like Shaw as a backup to Manziel is since he is a similar type of QB, the gameplan won't change much between the two.

Having said all that, I hope Manziel proves in the next three weeks that we have a starting QB for the future.

Exactly

Did just about the same thing Jurevicius did while he was in Cleveland. Certainly not as big as Joe, but very reliable in possession receiving situations.

Prediction: Johnny is a total cartoon character and somehow manages to be even more polarizing than before. I will say he ends up 1-2, with a few big plays but also a few that could be put to Yakety Sax. I also give 50% odds he gets hurt on a scramble. At least this is going to entertain.

Johnny goes 2-1. One of those two wins is as ugly as they get, and all the people who called Brian Hoyer a pure winner and leader will point to Manziel's stats and say he blows.

EDIT: And someone will inevitably trot out the 'top 10 quarterback' label for Manziel for no apparent reason.

Some big games this week to keep an eye on

Pit at Atl
GB at Buf
Hou at Ind
Mia at NE

The last 3 are important in the WC. Losses by Buf, Hou or Mia wouuld essentially eliminate them from the WC chase. Would just leave KC, SD and the AFCN as WC contenders.

I mean, you have to think we got those last 3 in the bag. BUF Def is pretty good but GB can just put up points. Can BUF OFF match GB OFF? I don't think so. And they are used to playing in the cold, so there is no advantage for BUF. NE at home against Tannehill who sucked ass against 2 cake walk games? Good luck. I hope it's cold too. Biggest problem would be Hou/Indi, but Luck isn't going to play as bad as he did in our game. Even the Pit/ATL game will be a shootout. But I feel PIT will take this one.

Prediction: Manziel wins all 3 games, people here begrudgingly begin to like and support him. :chuckle:

If he's good, I'll support him like I do all Cleveland Brown players. Don't ask me to like him because I doubt that will ever happen.

Brian Bosworth is not at all Johnny Manziel. That's a misunderstanding of how fucked up the Boz was if so.
