2014 Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This Charles Johnson talk is a joke. Reminds me of a guy we had just a couple years ago in Carlton Mitchell. There's a reason he went undrafted, temper your hopes/expectations.

Actually, he went in the 7th round. He was projected anywhere from 4th to 7th. He is a freak, but he was taken where he was in part due to this...

Johnson does have a red flag, having bounced around between different schools. He initially went to Eastern Kentucky, where he was suspended. He then attended Antelope Valley Community College (Calif.) in 2008, took a season off in 2009, and was at Grand Valley State starting in 2010.

Charles Johnson is a small school guy drafted by the Packers a few years ago. He's 6'2"/215, ran sub 4.4 40s. He supposedly has good hands. The Packers had him tucked away on the practice squad. We signed him to our active roster last year and he reportedly failed to give GB a chance to match the offer. When he came in, we found out he had a torn ACL. He's physically gifted and the Packers are good at developing receivers, but I don't think anyone knows for sure if he's ready to step up.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't GB have to sign him to the active roster in order to keep him?

I wouldnt be surprised if Greg Little loses his roster spot actually. Thats some serious competition they just brought in, and those guys can catch the ball. Chud, come fight me.

I don't think any WR is safe, except for Gordon and, perhaps, Hawkins. The rest of the guys actually need to battle in camp, rather than collect a paycheck, to make the team. Greg Little has one thing going for him, though... He is not shy about blocking.

This is a JOKE, the Browns had a big receiver that was under the radar and never worked out.

There is ZERO chance this guy will ever be anything different.

Because logic!

Austin and Bennett make this WR core respectable at the least.. Which is something we weren't 24 hours ago.. Playoffs?!?

We also cannot forget, that every wide receiver that comes to the Browns with a strong track record of catching the ball - always gets a case of the dropsies.

Out last victim - Davone Bess. The guy might be completely out of his mind but, he had a history of being sure handed. Bess comes to the Browns and cannot catch anything to save his life.

Cleveland is where careers die.

is Austin next?

If you're counting him as a zombie, then he may be next. Dude's been done in already.

Good call.

Horrible draft pick. Not as bad as Robiskie and Massaquoi, but man.

That's a lot of wasted 2nd rounders.

And people (national media, some Browns fans) were going in on the Browns for not taking a WR at 35.

Little, Massaquoi, Robieskie... nuff said.

I thought the pick was a home run at the time of the draft.

Didn't Torrey Smith go one pick before Little? Ugh... at least the Lions saved us from ourselves by drafting Titus Young before we got the chance.
