Projected Lineups
-| Please note lineups are a projection done at the beginning of the series and may not be entirely accurate for all games -|

Cleveland

Bourn - Ramirez - Brantley - Santana - Gomes - Murphy - Kipnis - Chisenhall - Aviles

Tampa Bay

Zobrist - DeJesus - Longoria - Loney - Myers - Franklin - Joyce - Escobar - Hanigan

The scenarios for the Indians forcing an American League Wild Card tiebreak have become simpler:

  • The Indians must sweep Tampa Bay this weekend, with Corey Kluber (Friday), Carlos Carrasco (Saturday) and Danny Salazar (Sunday) pitching
  • Kansas City (vs. the White Sox) or Oakland (vs. the Texas Rangers) must be swept in 4 games
  • Seattle must lose at least one of its final four games (1 vs. TOR, 3 vs. LAA)
Then it gets real interesting and we won’t get into tiebreak details just yet, but if both KC and Oakland are swept, Cleveland sweeps and Seattle goes 1-3, we have a four-way tie for two spots. Oh boy.

Wait, TJ House got pulled after 50 pitches....

Is he hurt, or is Terry Francona just using the last game of the year to fulfill his life long dream of using every single pitcher in his bullpen in a 9 inning game?

Indians win the season finale 7-2 and finish 85-77 on the season. On behalf of myself and Corey, thanks to everyone for another great year.
