2015 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Conley is squarely in the mix for me in round two.

Researched him after his combine breakout, and he's a really well spoken kid too. Leadership qualities jump out in interviews.

I don't know about going Rd.2, but definitely in the 3/4.

I do have to agree with you though, this is the type of kid I am looking for. If we think he would fall to 3, take him. He is just an overall, good kid.

You don't put up those numbers with that size and go in the third or fourth round.

Guess it's gonna come down to who we get FA, if one of the top 3 (probably only Parker, realistically) falls to us at 12, if we value a QB in the 2nd, if we decide to take him in the 2nd.

But what do I know..that's why I am sitting at a desk right now on RBF instead of looking at film.

Just too early to tell right now. But speculating is so much fun.

Based on what Farmer has said about the wide receiver position in the past, I'd be hard pressed to believe he values a guy like Parker above the other players who will be on the board.

He's much more likely to attack it on day 2, IMO.

McShay mock is up

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/mock/?season=2015&version=3&source=Todd-McShay-Mock-Draft

12: DeVante Parker, WR Louisville
Analysis: The Browns' quarterback situation is a mess, with Brian Hoyer a free agent and 2014 first-rounder Johnny Manziel currently in rehab after a rookie season in which he struggled. But the only way they're going to find an answer in this year's draft is if they package the No. 12 and No. 19 picks to move up into the top five to draft Mariota, and I don't think they will (or should) do that. So their next-biggest needs are probably right tackle, wide receiver and nose tackle, and in Parker they're getting a big, productive wide receiver who quietly put up some impressive workout numbers at the combine -- 4.45 40-yard dash, 36.5-inch vertical jump, 10 foot, 5 inch broad jump -- that matched the explosiveness he displays on tape.

19: Ereck Flowers, OT Miami, FL
Analysis: I had the Browns take Louisville receiver DeVante Parker at No. 12, so with this pick they'll address their need at right tackle. Flowers has a really good combination of size, strength, agility and toughness. He can get better with his hand placement and he needs to work at keeping his pads down more consistently, but the weaknesses he shows on tape are correctable. Additionally, he possesses great football character and takes well to coaching.

How much would it cost us to jump into the top 10 and grab the 2nd of White/Cooper? They're the only WR's I want anything to do with in the first round.

I would also prefer to jump up and take Mariota if he's going to last until #10, but I can't see the Jets letting him get by them in any world.

I don't know about jumping up to take a WR, especially in this class. There are a lot of quality guys to be had at 12, 19 and 43. It seems unnecessary.

Wide receiver is just not something you trade up for.

Certainly shouldn't be something a team with this sort of instability at QB considers.

Hypothetically, lets say Winston falls to #12. Do you take him?

I see a Jamarcus Russel like collapse in his future, so I don't know if I do. Is his potential worth it?

In your hypothetical, I would not. Do I think the Browns would? Yes, yes I do...

I mean that shouldn't even be said because there is a 0% chance of that happening unless something historically bad comes out between now and the draft.

But the answer would be fuck yes. Unless something crazy as shit comes out that he likes little boys or he took up blind pogo-stick tight rope jumping, then you take him. Potential is just too much. Completely goes against my theory of stop drafting bad egg people, but our QB situation has just been horrid.

If Winston falls to 12, he did so for a reason. You pass.

Also, I'm getting tired of seeing people claim that we need to draft a RT in the first round. I think mock drafts are simply trying to fill needs with 1st rounders right now, rather than seeing the whole picture. The Browns absolutely do not need to spend a 1st rounder on a damn RT. They need run stoppers with athletic ability, pass catchers, and a QB. Not a fucking Right Tackle.

Yeah, this pretty much nails it for me.

The right tackle thing is just painfully dumb.

Agreed, pressure was coming up the middle against McDonald in delayed blitzes moreso than right tackle. The team could upgrade, but it isn't as pressing.
