2015 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wonder if the Browns will look into drafting a fullback with how much Flip seems to like them. I do like Fowler from Alabama and possible O'Leary as guys who could fit into that role as well. If the Browns miss out on Maxx Williams then one of Heuerman and Koyack in the 3rd/4th rounds would be a good fit.

A prospect I do like is Perryman from the U. Ilb that can help with run defense but would need to get better in coverage. Undersized so would probably go in the second round sometime.

Browns Off-Season Mock (3/4)

Browns sign:

QB - Josh McCown
WR - Brian Hartline
DL TBD
OLB Jerry Hughes

Draft:

1 - 12 - Malcom Brown - DL - Texas - Still sticking with Brown as the target here. Just too much of a sure thing.

**TRADE**
- The Browns, looking for weapons with this pick, decide to move down a few spots and add an additional third round pick for their trouble. With the Top 3 WR off the board (presumably), it makes a ton of sense for them to move back and acquire....

1 - (mid20s) - Chris Conley - WR - Georgia - People are going to call this an overreaction to the combine, but it's probably not. Conley elevated his stock to be considered in this range. He's got incredible speed and lateral quicks to go along with superb hands and separation skills.

2 - Bryce Petty - QB - Baylor - Has the intelligence to succeed and the physical skills to be special. All he needs is time and stability with a system (fingers crossed).

3 - Trey Flowers - DL - Arkansas - Adds to what now looks like a strong defensive front seven with the additions of Brown, FA TBD and Hughes.

3 (via trade) - Jeff Heuerman - TE - Ohio State - One of the more underrated guys in the draft, underutilized by a system that didn't need him to be a receiver. Pretty polished and has good athleticism, could be a good fit at the F-TE position in the new offense.

4 - Mitch Morse - OL - Mizzou - Had him in my last mock as well. Can play all over the line, smart and knows how to win at the POA. Showed decent enough athleticism at the combine to make me think he can play tackle at the next level.

4 (via Bills) - Ramik Wilson - LB - Georgia - (Assuming Ben Heeney is gone) Another Dawg, Wilson gets put into an advantageous position of only needing to play special teams in 2015. Needs to continue to improve his technique, gets himself put out of position too much. Solid add for the future with Dansby and CRob in doubt long-term.

5 - Kyle Emanuel - OLB - North Dakota State - Developmental pass rushing prospect with a good motor and enough athleticism.

6 - Brandon Ivory - NT - Alabama - With Ish Kitchen already an RFA and with Rubin out the door, they'll need depth here.

6 (via Balt) - Jordan Richards - SS - Stanford - Run stuffing safety in the Donte Whitner mold, would have a great mentor to learn the defense and eventually take over for.

7 - Matt Jones - RB - Florida - Got pretty well banged up this season, but would be a nice compliment to West and Cro as a bigger guy who can move a pile.

I was hoping to get Conley in the 2nd or 3rd, but maybe you're right in where you are drafting him.

Micheal Burton of Rutgers seems to be the only fullback who should be drafted. The system that gave the NFL Brian Leonard produces well rounded fullback who blow up holes and can still be a threat receiving.

I would be giddy if this was our off season. Big fan of Heuerman and think he would replace Cameron and then some (he can actually block).

Why does Kiper insist on the Browns drafting a tackle in the first rd when we have still have several good years of Joe Thomas left. It just doesnt make sense to me and if this is the line of thinking right now, I've lost even more faith in Ray Farmer. I'm not big on drafting receivers in the top 10, but at 19, that would be the perfect spot to pick one.

AZ, I can't lie and say that I'm familiar with with all of the guys in your mock draft... But I am familiar with the guys you have mocked for the first 3 rounds. If they walked away with what you mocked, that would be the best draft this team has had since they've come back by a very large margin. Especially considering the talent aquired and filling of needs. Great job dude!

Your draft prognostications have been subperb over the last 3yrs and I look forward to your post this time of year...so keep that good info coming.

The O'dell Beckham info from last year was far better than anything Kiper, Mayock, ot McSchay have ever put out.

I was going to google "head getting bigger gif", but am afraid to see what would come up on the work computer...so you get the point.

Please stay away from a OT in the 1st unless the draft just COMPLETELY doesn't go our way, which I do not see how that could happen. We cna grab another OL later in the draft and he can be ready when the time is needed. Not 1st, or 2nd..or preferably 3rd (depending what picks get taken away from us..)

I, too, appreciate b00bie's draft analysis..

Just for S's & G's, this was a pretty good one.

IF Mariota were to go first to Tampa instead of Winston, it is entirely possible that he drops to 12 organically, instead of any specific issue.

The teams between 2 and 11 which could potentially draft QBs (TEN, NYJ, CHI, STL) all have existing, although flawed, QB options already on their roster and significant needs at other positions. They could legitimately pass on Winston and justify the decision to do so based on cost-benefit analysis of their current situations.

Because CLE does not have currently legitimate long-term options on its roster, if Winston is available at 12, CLE is not in a position to pass on him. They should definitely take him, and invest in his success.

Whatever his issues might be, comparisons of Winston to Russell are invalid because they are entirely different personality types. Winston is a committed athlete and a natural leader, neither of which applied to Russell. Of course it is possible he might fail, but there is no indication "purple drank" might be one of them.

Regarding the OL choices, one that I might consider at CLE's second choice in the first (preferably through a trade down of a few slots) is Cameron Erving of FSU due to his versatility and ability to play C. He could be plugged into the RT, or RG as a rookie, while providing a hedge against Mack choosing to move on with his player option.
