2015 Cleveland Browns Training Camp Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Billy Winn is out for the year, could Tony McDaniel who Seahawks just released an option? Or will who just go with what we have?

I don't think switching to receiver is that hard. If you're meant to play the position, the transition doesn't take too long.

Edelman could play right off the bat. He's now one of the best route running receivers in the game, and has only played the position for two full seasons. (the other seasons he was behind Welker)

Edelman is another interesting example of quarterbacks turned receiver. He wasn't supposed to make that team, but he showed versatility in special teams. When Welker got hurt, he was pressed into action and did much better than expected. Again, the background as a quarterback helps the transition because he can make quick reads and audible with Brady. He then went back to a 5th receiver and contributed to special teams for two additional years. My original point comes right back: If Pryor wants to make the roster, he needs to show versatility besides receiver.

Various cuts could certainly be options but the Browns actually have a lot of depth on the D-Line.

Still have Starks, Shelton, D. Bryant, Taylor, Cooper, Hughes, Kitchen.

Looks like it is just an ankle sprain, for now. Apparently, he will have further testing Monday.

Dude is still an injury waiting to happen. Has to be something to do with genetics. Seems like there are guys that play over ten years without an injury and others who cannot stay healthy.

So, going by my theory - Billy Winn, is NOT "genetically gifted".

Really tacky; a camo stripe or something on the pads would have done the same thing and been much more pleasant to look at. Looks like a box of puzzle pieces.

I guess thats where we differ. i font see him as learning a craft but transitioning into a new role.
He already knows how to catch. run a route and read a defense. He is a natural Athlete. He is by far the ebst playmaker of the wide receiver corp before even taking a snap.

I think he will be used in game 1 but he has to make the team first and have a decent preseason.

Guys like eric crouch and other failed conversions of qb's to wide receiver into the NFL typically us a mental thing where they dont embrace it like they did the qb role. I think TP has already shown that is not the case.

you saying he needs to channel his inner metcalf?

Looks like we might add a running back with everyone but Crow banged up

CJ2K anyone?

Yeah but they're fun and the players like them, so whatever keeps 'em happy haha. Now if they see the field in games.......

Exactly.

I don't want a vote for myself (or the fans) in what the players get to wear during an innocuous practice. If it gets the players competing, they can wear whatever they please. If you don't like them as a fan, you just disagree with the players.

The first two things I've heard from Cleveland sports media is vitriol regarding Haslam saying he won't blow things up. They fully intend to try to force a blow-up.

Well, when they've gotten a glimpse into the playbook...they're able to create a scouting report and adjust accordingly.

It's up to Haslam to exercise self-control if this team (shockingly) doesn't perform well under Josh McCown/John Manziel's offensive play.
