2015 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like Petty but I'm not going that far. At this point, I'm taking Hundley over Petty. Some early scouting reports I've read on Petty have me concerned with his ability to throw guys open and deal with pressure. Not to mention his low 60s completion percentage in a high octane spread offense is concerning.

I think Hundley and Petty are pretty close to the same thing, IMO, and both are pretty good QB prospects if they can get their mechanics fixed.

They aren't far behind Mariota who I believe is going to be a great prospect but has his flaws. And both are light years ahead of Winston.

After drafting Weeden and Manziel, can we make sure Petty doesn't have shit for brains before designating him a franchise savior?

100 percent agree with those saying it's a huge risk to take one of these two two guys.

As much as I like Mariota, they just never challenged him to do much more in terms of throwing the ball down the field.

That's true for Petty, as well, to some extent. They certainly challenged him less than they did Griffin a few years ago.

Petty's 2013 passing chart is Manziel-esque, but overall he's just so much more ready for the NFL physically that he's a much better prospect IMO.

I'm finding it hard to understand why everyone needs the Browns to draft a QB in the first round.

For God's sake, just get a guy and let him actually prove himself before you heed the fans' advice and throw him out to the wolves.

How can the Browns not understand how to handle a QB? How can fans not see how bad of a plan it is to demand QB turnover game after game, season after season?

Planning to establish the QB position is not a flawed line of thinking, it's the QBs they've taken which have almost no chance of succeeding in that goal.

Taking 1-2 more years on Manziel is going to do what?....Aside from a hope and a prayer, there isn't much there that would lead anyone to believe he has a future.

Is this the Manziel thread :conf (5):

I'd really like to see the Browns not use a first rounder on a QB this season. Optimally, I would like to see them get a guy in the 2nd-4th (or wherever) and actually let him prove that he's ready.

Everybody knows that trying to establish the QB position isn't a flawed line of thinking. I have no idea where that comment comes from.

On a side note: Tony Rizzo just said you don't want Dorial Green Beckham BECAUSE he's an Oklahoma WR....

"Everyone" doesn't need the Browns to draft a QB in the first round, I have no idea where that comment comes from.

My comment was in response to saying the fans don't see how bad of a plan it is to demand QB turnover. It's not that plan that is a failure at all, and longevity given the players they brought in will not magically cure any of the problems associated with that position.

The only thing that will is better players, which is why Farmer has CLEARLY put a QB on the table for the draft this season.

It's worth talking about, as it always will be until they find one.

I mean, Jesus dude. :banghead: Do we really gotta do this every time I say something?

I'm not even addressing that "constant turnover isn't an issue" because I'm not going to get into another semantics argument. It isn't worth my time.

I just disagree that the fans are at all to blame for wanting turnover at the QB position.

I guess I'm just questioning what your point is?

To be fair, he also said he didn't want him because of his off the field problems, considering what we are going through with Josh Gordon.

I still think he's clueless but you only partially quoted him.

I'd lay solid odds he couldn't figure out how to Google search what his off-the-field issues are, much less know what they are or have done any background on him.

It was the first thing he said about the guy. Oklahoma WRs are "not good". It wasn't until after he said that when he began looking at the write-up on DGB.
